Ok - after the first 6/7 listens yesterday, apart from Riverman and a couple of others, I thought he'd f*cked it. Really dissapointed. Then I slept on it and listened again at 4 this morning and it sounded much, much better so here's my scores:
Riverman 11/10
In The Heat 7
X-ray Eyes 7
Lock The F*cking Doors 9
Dying Light 8
Right Stuff 9
Songs The Same 9
Mexican 7
Cant Go Back 7
Mighty I 9
Overall I absofuckinlutely love the sax and the solos and the grooves of Riverman and The Right Stuff. Quite atmospheric in places. Very good LP.
I can imagine the needle being brought down on the vinyl version then Riverman starts...wow...
Solid 8/10

I would be massively dismayed if Oasis reformed, particularly after Chasing Yesterday. I have no desire to hear Liam sing anything with his voice the way it is now. You can listen to the last 3 Oasis records while I listen to HFB/CY and we'll see who has a better time. A reunion is exactly what all the casual music fans EXPECT Noel to do, much better for him to show he can have a great career without Oasis and reveal himself as the creative talent he is. Haha I don't want to listen to the last 3 Oasis records. Tbh I haven't listened to HFB in a year...and while this CY is great... it's staying power will wane too. But having all of this under the Oasis moniker would be fine. Either way, the reunion gigs are coming within a few years. FACT. It just comes down to the fact that FOR ME the excitement of going to Oasis gig cannot be unmatched by whatever Noel or Liam come out with. And I think after listening to CY... Noel is starting to thaw as regards this idea. That's all this thread was seeking to discuss. How is it a FACT? A lot of people said for years they would reunite in 2015 but that will not be happening obviously. |

Corrected that for you i dont think so. Liam's 2015 vocals, still better than anything in CY, could still turn a good NG song to a great one Nah Liam's voice has got worse every year while noel's gets better. |
