THE MEXICAN FOR THE WIN!
Great guitar riff, great effects. Good melody, good chorus. It's a great song

What ever happened to my rock 'n' roll?
I fully expect Noel to sing it when i hear this. It's a bit too blatant, especially using both "religion" and "revolution" from the actual chorus hahaha

It's growing on me. Great guitar work, but still one of the weakest on the record. A good throwaway, to use Noel's words...

When the title of "The Mexican" was first revealed I was really hoping it would sound like this!

I keep hearing more Black Rebel Motorcycle Club than Queens Of The Stone Age.

I really have to say, knowing that Noel described it as QOTSA, first few tones made me really laugh... there is some similarity, but it sounds like kind of childish QOTSA song... dont really know what to think about it. For me the biggest and maybe the only WTF moment of the album...

QOTSA? fuck em, it sounds like the Stones!
or a new version of Full On
a throwaway, as he described it.

The mexican is a great tune. Reminds me of 3 ring circus, which is also a good tune

I think the song in itself is good, probably better than many QOTSA or AM songs in the same vein. The problem is that Noel is not such a good performer of this type of songs. Josh Homme has more swagger in his littlefinger than him

One of the best songs on the album. People who diss it have no musical taste.

Probably my third favourite after the right stuff and lock all the doors, slightly surprised it hasn't been better received. For me it's a great little rock n roll song. Sounds like it could of been on the Arctic monkeys AM.

Probably the one disappointment for me, but that's my own fault for hyping it up due to the QOTSA thing. Still a good song though. Not too fussed about the riff but the last minute and a half are great.

I like where it goes, but I don't really care for the initial build and I hate the "kid on crack" lyric. The arrangement is a bit plodding and the riff is pretty derivative, but when it gets going it is a lot better. If In The Heat of the Moment didn't have the na's, this would be the weakest track on the record for me.
The chorus is a bit too reminiscent of Whatever Happened To My Rock N Roll by BRMC which is a much better tune (listen to them back to back). I swear I did not see this mentioned before I said it lol.
