While the song remains the same is in the same family of Think of a Number. While the song remains the same is my absolute favorite Noel solo song. I could take a whole album of these kind of tracks from him. They really suit him. The live version of The song remains the same is miles better than the album version. |

It seems ok after couple spins, but the Foo Fighters' record is so fucking good that I barely feel like listening to Council Skies at this point. And the new Queens stuff is on another level too. There, I said it. Ugh can't stand the Foo fighters. |

It's actually come full circle and I'd rather have a new Oasis album than a Noel or Liam Solo album. They are both taking the piss and cashing cheques with these efforts. Look how beautiful Blurs new song is... Thought it was a bit meh. |

I think Noel has finally lost whatever tiny bit of “muse” for song writing he had left in him. His songs nowadays just come off as lazy, boring, bland and the production is just terrible. Is he surrounded by yes men or something? Who is telling him these songs he’s writing are good and album worthy? The likes of Weller and Marr? None of these singles have been over a 5/10. You could push DTTW as a 6 maybe but I think even that song people overate because it’s drastically different to anything Noel has done before, especially melody wise. I thought the concept for this album was brilliant, but the songs have just been boring and forgettable. This album title and concept would have been miles better as an Oasis reunion album if it ever happened. I think it’s time for Noel to give up the old songwriting, milk every bit of unreleased Oasis material that’s left in the vault for what it’s worth and just retire and live a quiet life. It's kinda obvious he needs other people to produce his records like David Holmes because he doesn't do a very good job when he goes solo Chasing yesterday sounded great. |
