Hopefully this means that the boring songs toward the end will put on some desperately needed attitude. Stuff like Keep The Dream Alive needs to start staying home from school, and then maybe it can grow into an acceptable song one day.

There was certainly an interesting sound developing with DOYS. Shame they broke up straight afterwards as it would have been interesting to see where they went with it - I think Noel, Gem and Andy were really starting to work well together as musicians. Are Oasis the only band to ever fuck up their career twice? /s

Seriously though it's an album that could have been brilliant. It seemed half arsed. A lot of great songs, a lot of songs that had no place being on the album. A bit like SOTSOG in that sense.

Remember someone on here saying it had leaked and getting an okay sounding leak and putting it on my PSP. Even the PSP makes me feel old.
10 years ago. wow.
Was the first, and sadly last, oasis album I had the pleasure of having the build up to, and everything that comes with it.
One thing I've hated about the whole Supersonic film talk and interviews that have gone with it is the complete dismissal of anything that come after 95 with Oasis.
DOYS will always be a special album to me because it was my favourite band ever releasing new stuff and that blew my mind at the time. I got to go to the Wembley night where Noel let the whole crowd sing DLBIA and that alone was something I will remmeber forever. Sad that moments like that are almost completely overlooked because they weren't in 1995. Great times.
still can't believe thats 10 years though

Are Oasis the only band to ever fuck up their career twice? /s To me it was a case of “same as it ever was, same as it ever was....”. No matter what Oasis post 2001 colord up it was always the same results. Heathen Chemistry 2002: Straight ahead pop rock album with uneven and boring production. Don’t Believe The Truth 2005: Stripped back, more acoustic in nature with uneven and boring production. Dig Out Your Soul: More kitchen sink type album with poor song selection and uneven results. Bottom line, Noel was in a funk and LAG couldn’t fully cut the mustard.

Great album imo, far from being perfect of course, has its problems, the last 1/3 is very problematic, but the first 2/3 are great, you can listen track 1 to 8 without skipping, but I bet many don't like it because it's not your usual Oasis britpop sound, the album sounds a bit different and it's for the better cos it makes the Oasis discography more varied alongside SOTSOG.
