I love Dig Out Your Soul. Probably quite a bit of sentimental attachment on my part, but I also think it was a step towards Oasis getting back to sounding like Oasis again. Shame it ended there.

I don’t think I’ve listened to DOYS start to finish since very early 2009. These days it’s only Bag It Up, The Turning, Waiting For The Rapture, Shock of The Lightning, Outta Time and Falling Down. I guess Soldier On as well but that doesn’t come on that much when using shuffle.
There was a dream that was Rome....

The only post-2000 Oasis thingie I listen to in full regularly is my fantasy 2002 Standing on the Shoulders of Giants:
1) Fuckin' in the Bushes 2) Go Let it Out 3) Who Feels Love? 4) Where Did it All Go Wrong? 5) Let's All Make Believe 6) The Hindu Times (Demo) 7) Gas Panic! 8) Stop Crying Your Heart Out 9) Little by Little 10) Idler's Dream 11) Roll it Over

I like to think Who Built The Moon? as a more realised version of that DOYS sound.

I like to think Who Built The Moon? as a more realised version of that DOYS sound. Yep, there’s definitely tunes on there that would have suited the vibe of DOYS. Chuck off all the non-Noel written tunes from DOYS (although do keep Soldier On there, also over I’m Outta Time as this track fits the vibe), get David Holmes to reproduce the entire album (would be cool to see what he’d have done with a song like Bag It Up, keeping its largely rock ethos of course) and you’ve got an album that comes a bit closer to the ‘psychedelic apocalypse’ conception. That’s my tenth year reimagining of it.

Listening to this right now. Still a good album. Had potential to be great though. Forgot how good The Turning was.

I'm still the only person who legitimately likes GOYHHL Though, I think people forget that when the album came out, a few reviews listed GOYHHL as a highlight.

I enjoy it a lot too, although I still would have liked to have seen Come On Outside at track six instead: DIG OUT YOUR SOUL1) Bag it Up 2) The Turning 3) Waiting for the Rapture 4) The Shock of the Lightning 5) I'm Outta Time 6) Come On Outside (Liam Vox) 7) Falling Down 8) To Be Where There's Life 9) Record Machine (Liam Vox) 10) The Boy With the Blues 11) Soldier On I don't think Holmes' production would suit an album like this, to be honest; his sound is too rooted in ambient and dance. Depending on whether more of a rock or psych vibe was intended, I'd have called up Josh Homme or Brian Eno, respectively. Also, there's this Gaz Cobain guy that could have contributed a few nice ideas, wonder if Noel has heard of him.

Also, I know Sardy is the easiest punching bag on here, and somewhat deservedly so with DBTT and HFB's, but of the people to blame that album on, I think he's the least blamable.
DOYS is probably the 2nd or 3rd best produced of Oasis's records. Also, it's the only record that Sardy did with Noel where he came in from the very beginning and I think the end quality attests to that.

It frustrates the hell out of me that Noel sabatagoed the end product at the last minute in retaliation to Liam.

I wish Noel was more of a perfectionist rather than the fuck it that'll do attitude.

I wish Noel was more of a perfectionist rather than the fuck it that'll do attitude. Years of working with people who care even less than him (I'm not even sure how that's possible) will do that to you. Also, it's a testament to how "making it" in the music industry is less about talented people honing their craft and more about timing, emotion, and VERY often flat out luck. The early Oasis albums were brilliant, in part, because they didn't know enough to get in their way at the time. They just sat in a room and made some music and it was great.

I like it too, on its own a weak song, but it grows on the album and works well in its context, also it is sandwiched by two great songs IOT and FD, it helps.

I really like DOYS. It is commonly said in this forum that DOYS was dissapointed. I think it was right. A good balance between difference sound and quality... a kinda sound we couldn't find since SOTSOG... WBTM? and its new way to compose songs couldn't reach that IMO

I will never be able to accept Dig Out Your Soul as anything other than a half baked, half arsed album which showed the division between Liam and Noel. In my mind, it showed Oasis were right to split when they did because this album really did annouce the end of them. It is THE worst album Oasis done and the least cohearant of an album they did out of all of them.
Besides any album that features the absolute travesty that is High Horse Lady can be nothing but the worst thing Oasis have done

I used to love Soldier On, but after hearing the Morning Son, SO feels very dull in comparison.
DOYS is a good album to listen during an autumn evening, but I feel by the end of it, I'm tired of it. It drags on too much while declining in quality.
And I know everyone hates Ain't Got Nothing, but I must say, while not much better overall, the demo They Got Nothing On Me, They Got Nothing on You is the better version. The strings were better.
