As for Noel's setlist, not that I like him playing the same songs every time, but keep in mind that setlists are never designed for the hardcore fans that go to multiple concerts. The songs are chosen for the average person who likes the artist's music but may not know his/her whole output. Artists who do keep things interesting for hardcore fans are in the absolute minority.
Of course I agree it would be better if he could at least throw in a couple of surprises every now and then, but the average concert-goers would be left scratching their heads during stuff like Alone on the Rope.

Bob Dylan has mixed it up for years and is an average musician at best. Coincidentally, Dylan has maintained an almost static setlist since October 2013. Go on a Dylan forum and ask about 'the set' if you want to open a bigger can of worms than the usual Liam vs. Noel discussions you see here. Dylan is over 70. If he doesn't want to change it up to much these days I can forgive him that. I think on one European tour in the 80's he used 80 odd songs. Noel probably can't remember 80 songs he's written.

That actually happened, which is why he threw Alone On The Rope out. For someone with such a big ego, a reaction like that must be disappointing

Alone on the rope deserved so much more. Should've been an album track imo. Could've thrown off Stop The Clocks or Record Machine, or just add it. 11 songs isn't a crime.

Releasing Alone On The Rope as a Amazon download track is probably the worst post-Oasis decision.

Think if he saves Alone on the Rope and Let the Lord Shine A Light on Me for Chasing Yesterday. You would have: Riverman In the Heat of the Moment Alone on the Rope Lock all the Doors The Dying of the Light The Right Stuff While the Song Remains the Same Let the Lord Shine A Light on Me You Know We Can't Go Back Ballad of the Mighty I

It's not his best song but the perfect opener.

Get all three on the album Do the Damage Riverman In the Heat of the Moment Alone on the Rope The Dying of the Light The Right Stuff While the Song Remains the Same Let the Lord Shine A Light on Me You Know We Can't Go Back Ballad of the Mighty I There's not a weak portion of that album.

What a life would it be if Noel would come to Amsterdam for tea and played one of those songs for me.
