If Noel carries on like this set lost wise, and he is still strumming along to listen up and its good to be free in 5-10 years, will anyone honestly prefer seeing that to an Oasis reunion? actually listen up isn't played as much as you might think.

also another point i do like about noel and his gigs is his interaction with the crowd 95% of the time the banter is good thats something you didnt really get with liam and beady eye apart from a Cheers,,or a this ones called at least with noel he talks to his audience That is because Liam never needed to. He could stand there and have every single person in that venue's attention. Noel will never have that presence.

I think the set lists have to change Jesus his so stuck in his ways regarding this. Noel can sing pretty much anything but plays it to safe in my book to grab that excitement back why doesn't he try these songs.
It's better people Underneath the sky(a forgotten gem ) Girl with x Ray eyes Shout it out loud Step out Rockin chair Flashbax(Paul Weller fav oasis b side ) She's electric Carry us all

Why are you people here? Don't you have something better to do? Just wondering why all the moaners keep coming back if they're being bored to tears.
Noel continually entertains me and that's what I pay him for.
Can't wait for the summer gig in NYC.

I've seen him on consecutive nights and he uses the same gags. That said he did dedicate riverman to my wife for her birthday...so fundamentally that forgives him his sin against BHN

In fact, it's one of my least favourite Oasis B-sides that was written by Noel. Not too crazy about Step Out either.

Not too crazy about Step Out either. I agree that they're not among Noel's finest but I really like the two of them. Both are very uplifting and remind of the kind of tunes you'd listen while you're going to the sea .

When will Noel finally give Going Nowhere an outing? Even if he hates BHN, this song is pretty much the antithesis of the hedonistic excesses of that period.

I once stood at the front of Studio 150 in Amsterdam. You can't believe it's a stuido as it looks nothing, but just an old house. Love Weller's cover of One Way Road more than Noel's original. When Weller was recording the album at Studio 150, a Dutch band called Moke was recording their first album in the same studio and they became friends and Moke supported Weller at Paradiso in 2008 and a couple of gigs in London. Weller's comment was on Moke's debut album sleeve. Moke's debut album was great, pure Brit pop and I've seen them often back in time, but they're crap these days.

^ Yeah, I really liked their music and saw them live around that time too. Great live band. Plus, they're big Oasis fans too

I really don't know what you're talking about - Noel is more liked and respected by the music fan community / general public than probably at any other time since 1996. He's making the best music he's made since 1997. His voice is getting better and better, and so are his albums. His debut is a solid 7.5/10 (add another point with better production), and was the perfect start to a solo career - setting the score back after Oasis hit and miss efforts with a solid collection of songs. Chasing Yesterday is even better, with some totally fresh sounds and influences. If anything, the Noel Gallagher "act" is more exciting than its been in 20 years. All due respect. First I disagree that this is his best stuff since 97. But to the point. As a act. Yes. Noel us boring. Why Because if Noel could be half. As animated live , innovative ( change setlist , not look like a robot ) as he is in magazine interviews or taped tv interviews. He would be brilliant. But put Noel on stage. And he freezes. He looks mechanical. His setlist is predictable. In fact it's monotonous. Yet he is as good a interview as there is. Go figure Now Liam. May not be as talented as Noel writing wise. But his act never is BORING. WHY HE IS A FRONTMAN

I sent a copy to my friend in UK when it was out and he loved it. Lead singer Felix was born in Northern Ireland and he lost his brother by IRA bomb. He's been a huge Echo and The Bunnymen fan too. Shame that Moke are not anymore what they used to be. This was their performance at London Calling in Paradiso in 2007. They were the only Dutch band which played at this show case style festival.

But his act never is BORING. WHY HE IS A FRONTMAN I think we can all agree Liam is a better frontman than Noel, but that doesn't make Noel boring. Yes, he's not got that amazing presence on stage and yes, he should be a lot more creative with his setlists - but the fact remains that it's still a great songwriter singing the tunes of his Indian summer, with a voice that carries the task comfortably. When I went to see him, I can guarantee there weren't many people in that theatre yawning. I would actually say it's Liam who needs to add more to his act. He's not the singer he was, and let's be honest - the rest of the world got bored of him in 1998. Charisma isn't enough to carry him, at least not in the way Noel's great songs are for him. For Liam to be truly exciting, or at least interesting enough to spark the curiosity of people outside his fanbase (the way Noel has since going solo) he needs to take his time, rest/train his voice, and then come back strong with a fresh, modern and at least partially experimental album to play live. As for Noel, there's nothing he can do to change his stage presence - and it would be cringeworthy to even try. Past adding songs like The Right Stuff, Alone on the Rope, GWXRE etc...to his setlist and playing different Oasis songs (Seriously, The Girl in the dirty Shirt would be perfect), I don't see what Noel can really do to improve. If he continues his musical and creative expansion in LP3, I'll continue to see him as an extremely exciting musical act.
