I hate to admit it, I really do, but the fucker is growing on me. Initial listen: 6/10 Current rating: 7/10 I'm digging the 80s vibe. As mentioned by someone else on here, I'm hoping there's a killer guitar solo or instrumental break somewhere in there on the album version because it is a bit too repetitive. I also get excited seeing both Gem <3, and Chris on stage with Noel. Gem is the fucking man, and Chris is such a better drummer than the previous guy. (Get Liam back, and a replacement for Andy and we're in business).Just keep Russell. |

My impression is that the songs from this album may not work as well live as they did in the studio. Perhaps that's because they are very producer led and designed to be sonically subversive, when you strip them down to a live band I'm not sure they have quite the same impact. She Taught Me How To Fly sounds like it could be an interesting album track, but as a live song promoting the record I don't think the average person will take to that. Well i think Holy Mountain is better live for a start. |
