Ok so shortly after releasing Chasing Yesterday. NOEL said he was halfway through his 3rd Album. Given Chasing yesterday was finished 6 months before actually being released this likely gave Noel time to polish up a few more tracks that were left over that we'll see on LP 3. In this period he likely finished off Here's a candle
He also claimed when he was nearing the end of the first part of the CY tour that he would be entering the studio again in 5 weeks. That corresponds with the 8 month tour break from Jul15-march16
So that's another 8months in the studio
He also said he'd hoped to have it finished by the end of 2015.
I think by time the next tour finishes, He'll spend a few months mixing, and we can expect an October 2016 announcement for a Feb 2017 release date for album 3. For which we can expect a similar tour to CY
Thoughts?
FYI if come on outside and god help us all aren't in album 3's release cycle I'll run down some fucking kids.

Do you actually believe that Noel had already started his 3rd studio album while waiting for CY to be released? Knowing Noel and the lazy vagina that he is he probably did fuck all during that time. And has a recording date ever been confirmed for Here's a Candle? I was under the impression that it was recorded at the same time as the rest of CY. I might be wrong though.

I now remember that someone thought it might date from the same sessions in which he recorded The Good Rebel, Let the Lord, and I'd Pick You Everytime. The songs indeed sound like they may have been recorded in the same session. |

Here's A Candle dates back to the sessions for the first HFB album. Mike Rowe mentioned that in the podcast one of the members whose name is escaping me at the moment does every once in a while with people.

Id be amazed if album #3 is out before spring 2018. The way he doesnt put out random singles / EPs while we wait is the real pisser for me.

22000 Chernobyl becomes habitable 22001 Be here now reissue Man, I'd love to have that kind of optimism  But yeah, as much as I want to believe Noel, and as much as it would make sense that he did something between finishing and releasing CY, I'd still be surprised if the album gets released before 2018. That's just the way it is. Would be awesome if he got some of the leftovers from the first two albums (Come On It's Alright, God Help Us All) out on an EP or something, but that's never going to happen. |

Good, been too long without having some hype. The leak is imminent. The leak is always imminent. In Noel we trust. Amen.
If the album is the instrumental tracks Noel mentioned working on, then I've always imagined they'll sound something like 'In The Heat of the Moment', the last track recorded for the album, which I feel sounds quite different to everything else.
If the album is not these instrumentals, that would be nice to know, so that we can argue about which tracks we've already had for years will/should be on it. Other than an official release of Don't Stop The Happening (Bye Bye My Family) I'm not really too bothered, I'd rather hear new stuff, but I need a HQ version of that song in my life. Love it. Wish Noel had gone with Bye Bye My Family as the title though, always loved that.
Oh and I'm pretty Sure 'Here's a Candle' was recorded on the same day as 'Leave my Guitar Alone' if that helps at all. I think the songs themselves date back to HFB 1 sessions, if not the recordings.

So basically, my best guess is he will never release 'Come On Outside' and 'God Help Us All', but it's very very relieving to know he'll be releasing 'Don't Stop...' (Official Title) soon. If it ends up on his next album, it's a very big plus from me. He's right about 'Come On Outside' & 'God Help Us All'--they're b-side material. carryusall: 'Leave My Guitar Alone' & 'Here's a Candle (For You Birthday Cake)' were recorded separately from each session. 'Leave My Guitar Alone' is definitely CY material. Whereas 'Here's a Candle...' is HFB material. This does in fact include 'Do the Damage' and 'The Dying of the Light', as well as 'The Right Stuff' and 'The Mexican'. 'Freaky Teeth' and 'Revolution Song' too. The rest were demoed post-HFB era. |

I hope Come On Outside, Don't Stop the Happening, Just Let it Come Down Over Me etc..aren't on the record, great as they are. I want a genuinely experimental album next, it just feels like the natural next step. Staying in the same place would feel like a step backwards.
