Said it before but most of this sounds absolutely nothing like Noel. Where did he get this from?!

The impression I had listening to the whole album by Liam was that it was tad monotonous and not varied in musical ideas. This one doesn't seem so 'catchy' and will take a few attempts to be fully discovered. Much more mature and a nice departure from the well known paths. Ya, if I were to compare the two so far, AYW has the far stronger melodies and is catchier, while WBTM is better and deeper musically. Musically, that was expected. TBH from what I've heard, I have slight concerns about the melodic nature of WBTM from what I've heard... Very few if any of the songs have hooked me in, which may have sort have been the point/idea with the Holmes approach. We will see. But again, I think this will be a more "album experience" rather than "cherry picking songs you are in the mood for" type album. AYW has boring, clichéd melodies. Heard 1000x before.

How can anyone not like STMHTF? You can't help but dance and smile to it.

B+WS: The first line of every verse is EXACTLY the same melody as Do the Damage - the "there's gooooooooooolld in the city" bit. Love the groove, sounds like a mix of The Stones and, well, David Holmes. Very fun, like the organ. WHAT A DAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY NOW! Listen to "Be Careful". You need to.

Really grown on me has this tune, just a happy, upbeat number - with a New Order riff I absolutely love it.

Be Careful is the most mature and crafted Noel song ever. That instrumental bit is unreal.

B&W Sunshine not quite up there with the rest of them. Can't tell from first listen, it's not instant not a song you could remember straight away.

Never heard a Noel song like this. It's insane. Just to be clear, this is Be Careful What You Wish For (the groovy, Come Together style one) that you're discussing? Yep.

It's good folks. It's good! I'm not listening until Friday, but it seems like mission accomplished judging by people's assessments here! Never heard a Noel song like this. It's insane.

What?! You Know We Can't Go Back is stunning and one the best things Noel's ever written. I think it’s the worst track on CY. It's fairly avarage. Noel can write these types of songs in his sleep, that's why this new sound on the new album was needed.

As poor as some of Noel’s songs got, more so in that they sounded so half arsed, he never wrote anything as syrupy sweet and maudlin as For What Its Worth. I really like Liam’s album but its the poorest on the album. Something that belongs with Beady Eye. Even Keane would go ‘but much that no?’. Reminds me of the overblown melodramatic song that Father Dick Byrne performs on the Eurovision episode of Father Ted. Noel has always been on the right side of sentimentality. Never gone overboard, he’s always had a knack of just getting it right. to be fair, If I Had a Gun is pretty syrupy sweet and maudlin FWIW is not the weakeast one for me, I skip Chinatown every time as for It's a Beautiful World... I'd give it a 5/10. the the effects on the chorus kinda suck I don't mind Chinatown, kind of quirky in a rubbish way. FWIW however is one of the worst songwriting by numbers, obvious attempt at an Oasis ballad songs I've ever heard. It should be strapped to the end of a North Korean ballistic missile never to retuen. IIHAG had a great delicate melody at its heart which was ruined by shit production.
