A common use of the word acquiesce would be "John told Tom to open the door. Tom acquiesced." That's how I've always seen it used. Apparently Noel came up with the word after he heard it while watching the O.J. Simpson trial on TV - if memory serves.
Regarding lyrics, how about Magic Pie as a whole? LOL I personally like the song but it is total non-sense

I met Lisa and her man in Toronto , class act fans. I'm sure when Lisa waits in the car as her boyfriend does the grocery shopping Lisa doesn't mind to be left behind ? JK  Of course I don't Paul - and sometimes if he's a good boy he doesn't even get a whipping that night  |

Not that I need to explain it to you but, you should ask my boyfriend - he's ianbrown21 on this board - how he feels about it. See what he says.
And by the way I felt horrible the whole time it was happening but because he is such an amazing guy he knew I had been waiting for this moment since I was 12 years old and he wouldn't in a million years tell me not to go.
I spent only about half an hour back there talking to the guys (I could have stayed and drank, but I didn't), and I got Gem's set list after the show, which I had the whole band sign "To Justin and Lisa" and I talked about nothing else except how he was waiting for me to come out and how he's such a huge fan too.
Yeah, I'm a terrible girlfriend. And I'm sure he wishes he dumped me two days later when he met Gem (and we had drinks with him), Liam and Andy at the hotel because of me also. Oh and we met Jack White too.

Well, they're playing SOTL constantly on Edge 102 here in Toronto so that's a good sign. Plus any shows that have happened here in Toronto over the last few years have always sold out, esp. Noel & Gem's acoustic show - hardest tickets to come by!

The reason Gem himself told me is that most guys when they get backstage start conversations like "okay, so on that last version of Supersonic you played tonight, you changed tuning on that high E when it's usually a low E - why did you choose to do that?" LOL
Apparently girls don't ask those types of questions - oh and Liam said "I cant take blokes mate" and that girls are "nicer scenery" - there's nothing funny going on at all it's just they like a chilled out environment. I couldn't get my b/f back - he had to wait in the car! :-(
