I'm going up to Michigan (myself living in Ohio) to see the boys at Auborn hills, and i'm wondering how i could get backstage passes? Do i purchase them somehow? win them somehow? how does one obtain a backstage pass lol? Any help is appreciated!

You're from Ohio, and going to Detroit too? We're like blood brothers man.
Usually you get the passes from knowing someone who is close with the band, or works there. So you're shit outta luck if you don't know anyone.

Be really cheeky and pretend you work for Q or MOJO magazine. Get down to the venue for late morning, just after lunch. You could blag you way in past security or the security will take pity on you and let you round the back. It' ain't easy. You will get knocked back time and time again, but be peristant . After the soundcheck make contact with someone and explain yourself. It really does happen.
Go for it!
That's what i once did.

Most of the time, they don't let guys back. It's pretty rare that they do, at least at the US shows. I've only seen them do it once in all the times I've gotten passes.

The reason Gem himself told me is that most guys when they get backstage start conversations like "okay, so on that last version of Supersonic you played tonight, you changed tuning on that high E when it's usually a low E - why did you choose to do that?" LOL
Apparently girls don't ask those types of questions - oh and Liam said "I cant take blokes mate" and that girls are "nicer scenery" - there's nothing funny going on at all it's just they like a chilled out environment. I couldn't get my b/f back - he had to wait in the car! :-(

And yeah, I've never seen anything fishy happening, but Lisa's pretty much hit the nail on the head with her response.

Well, that's too bad lol :[ oh got some alright seats anywase ;] Although, i couldn't buy floor seats when i bought my tickets, now when i go back onto ticketmaster they're seeling floor seats!? Is there anyway i can trade my older tickets back in with a refund and then buy better tickets? If not it's ok. You're from Ohio, and going to Detroit too? We're like blood brothers man. Usually you get the passes from knowing someone who is close with the band, or works there. So you're shit outta luck if you don't know anyone. Man that is pretty crazy! I've actually been up to painsville (I have family up there) wich is right by Madison. I myself live in Amherst. I was going to the chicago show until i saw they were playing in MI. It's great to see another Oasis fan in Oh, not too many of my family / friends are too big on them ;] (they're idiots.)

You can go ahead and buy the floor tickets you were looking at and then try to sell (stubhub, craigslist, etc) what you've got now. I'm almost positive that TM won't give you a refund.

Painsville is a bit of a shit hole man, well most of it. And Madison is much nicer, except for the hicks, and the second largest Wal-Mart in the U.S. Yea, I haven't met very many Oasis fans. There'll be the few girls who like Wonderwall, but won't know anything else. Then there'll be a few guys that will only listen to them when I play it. The only fans really, are my teachers who are about 30 years old.

Woo! I'm from Ohio too and driving up to Detroit. But as I am a girl and much more likely to get backstage, how do I go about doing it?

My theory is that they just don't want any problems... have you seen most guys at Oasis gigs?? They are drunk and want to fight.. I just don't think they want anyone attacking the band.

And I'm definitely not talking out of my ass. It's just a fact that I have rarely seen any guys (that aren't tour crew or band) backstage. The only show I've seen them let guys back for was in Cleveland, and even then it was one guy to maybe 15-20 women. I dunno what happens in the UK. I haven't been to a show over there, but I've seen what happens at US ones. But I'm taking a stab that most of the guys that do get back at UK shows are, like I said before, friends of the band (or of someone famous, hence why they get back) or family. As for the reply on the DVD I'm sure they probably put a bunch of people on guestlist that they don't end up remembering when time rolls around. As for what Lisa did, that's awesome that her boyfriend was cool with her going back. I know she's been into this band for quite sometime, at least 10+ years (sorry Lisa ). So I'm sure her man knows what getting that pass meant to her. And was probably why he was cool with it in the first place.

Not that I need to explain it to you but, you should ask my boyfriend - he's ianbrown21 on this board - how he feels about it. See what he says.
And by the way I felt horrible the whole time it was happening but because he is such an amazing guy he knew I had been waiting for this moment since I was 12 years old and he wouldn't in a million years tell me not to go.
I spent only about half an hour back there talking to the guys (I could have stayed and drank, but I didn't), and I got Gem's set list after the show, which I had the whole band sign "To Justin and Lisa" and I talked about nothing else except how he was waiting for me to come out and how he's such a huge fan too.
Yeah, I'm a terrible girlfriend. And I'm sure he wishes he dumped me two days later when he met Gem (and we had drinks with him), Liam and Andy at the hotel because of me also. Oh and we met Jack White too.
