Both quite similar songs, wondered which one you thought was better? I prefer The Meaning Of Soul

I dunno why all the slagging on MoS. Nice little rockin' tune. I really like it. Ain't got nothing was supposed to be a B-side. I don't even look at it as a real album track.

I'm not keen on the studio version of Meaning of Soul. I love the live version though, the extended drum intro and heavier riffs are brilliant. It's short and fast paced so it's over before it really begins.
Despite only being 2 and a half minutes long though, I think Ain't Got Nothing seems to drag live. The studio version is horrendous as an album track as well, it's monotonous, 3 chord "pub rock". It just reminds me of a very poor mans Roll With It.

both serve their purpose on the albums as short bursts of madness but they shouldn't be on the setlist. yeah the meaning of soul is better live than on the album but its holding back better tunes from getting in.

I think AGN is ok, should've been a b-side... but it would be a good b-side.... MOS, in other hand, would be a shit b-side

Personally I can't choose - not head over heels for either tune to be honest

I actually really like Meaning of Soul. It's a pounding, sweaty rocker. Some reviewer compared it to "a b-side from 1994, yeah it's that good." Well I'm not sure if it's THAT good but I think it works in just about any live set and has a pretty ferocious studio version (love those surging backing vocals). What's not to like?
Ain't Got Nothin is growing on me...very slowly. It obviously is b-side material

i cant decide i love both! MOS is a pounding rocker full of energy and attidue, i love the recording with acoustic and backing vocals.. soooo good AGN is again a pure rocker filled with attitude.... pure rock & roll
hmmm actually after listening to them both... MOS! they should have kept AGN as the demo.. now THAT is rock and roll.
