Outside the fanbase I never believed that noel (or anyone involved with oasis) got the respect they deserved, now we are questioning whether or not the fans give him enough respect, sadly i don't think that some do

He constantly slags them off. Why should they give him any respect? this is the main reason why I can't stand Noel these days really. He pretty much shits on the oasis fan base and distances himself from it wherever possible. He even rips all the oasis sound out of his oasis songs within his solo setlist. Liam might not be a saint but at least he embraces people for loving oasis and doesnt come across as ashamed of it. Its almost like Noel allows his dislike for Liam to taint the whole of oasis and its fans. even the likes of johnny marr still plays the songs as they were in the smiths. |

I think it's telling that Noel's bitterness seems to have increased as Liam's solo career has taken off. Lately he seems actually angry as opposed to just having a laugh. It's almost as if Liam and his man of the people/I'm going to give the fans what they want attitude is pushing Noel to separate himself even more from his legacy. Someone else on this on thread pointed out that when Noel plays Oasis songs live now he "pulls the Oasis out of them". Lots of artists will change the way they play older songs to keep them interesting, but it does seem like he's doing this on purpose. I'll always respect him for his legacy and for giving me so much music I still love and listen to, but I can see why a lot of people don't.

I don’t truly think he cares if Oasis fans respect him or not. He’s in a great place as a musician, he seems happier now than he’s ever been in a band and he is loved up big time it seems, fair play to him.
Do wish he’d just refuse to answer any Q about Liam, he clearly can’t stand Liam and has zero interest in him or his (and songwriters) music.

Noel is respected by fellow musicians. He is a musician's musician. Liam is adored by the fans. Not saying the fans don't like Noel, they do. Should Liam write is own songs? He should, if he is capable of write good enough ones and as many as an album and possible B sides need. If not, this: Having songwriters is not the issue with Liam. It's having songwriters that will make music that suits him and his voice. No point in writing all his own songs if they aren't good enough, but it also does not make sense not having people writing for his voice and style. Maybe a proper partnership in which he could develop his songwriting would do him good? |

I'll respect Noel to the ends of the Earth for what he did with Oasis, but other than parts of his first solo album, I absolutely hate his solo stuff.
Noel has moved on and left me behind, I'm fine with that and it's not in his nature to give a fuck.

Noel doesn’t respect oasis fans period. Good. Nobody is entitled to any respect unless they earn it. I respect Noel and Liam and every previous member of Oasis for giving me some of the best songs I'll ever hear. I have done nothing to earn their respect. I've paid for a service and got it. |

Without Noel we wouldn't have all these fantastic Oasis songs that we all love. For that, I will always respect Noel. Too many Oasis fans think Noel should write songs for them. Let him be creative and free. Or the real people. Tbh |

I used to respect him. Worship the ground he walked on even. Last couple of years though my respect from him has all but gone. When you swipe at the people who put you where you are, you aren't due loyalty any more. I totally agree with this. And people who defend him and say he doesn't owe us anything are missing the point. |
