I just found out that the single "If Love Is The Law" is not available in my country yet (Italy). I tried Spotify, Deezer and Google Play but there's nothing to do. I guess others countries have the same problem too. I'm waiting Alone On The Rope on FLAC from 9 days. If in this forum is allowed, can someone please send to me the link in private for downloading it?

Beyond elated to have Alone on The Rope out there, along with live performances. Sometimes we forget that we're not exactly the median nor the mode of the fandom. It feels great to have it be on Spotify and with the Love Is the Law cover art, it's beautiful.

Some people are complaining because it's already out there, but it's a pretty obscure song to many, albeit a well-known one amongst many diehards like us, and having it on an official single release is great to get the song out there. Noel didn't do much to the song that makes it different from the version we've heard, but he didn't need to with how perfect it is already.

My copy of ILITL arrived today, I just went for the picture disc, that'll do.
It says a lot when a brand new Noel single is released and literally nobody is talking about it.
Hopefully if we get another single it will have a fresh b-side. I wouldnt be surprised if we get A Simple Game Of Genius!

Funny story. A few weeks ago, I had a dream where I was drinking with Noel and as we were talking I was like, "So what's the deal with Alone on the Rope anyway? Why was it accidentally released, why do you play it live and why can't I buy it somewhere?"
In the dream, he shrugged his shoulders. The next day, this single was announced and I almost shit my pants.

Yeah.......but....................it’s from an album that came out 10+ months ago backed by a song that came out in 2011. Why would the general public much less this forum go nuts over it?

Nonetheless, had a listen to it for the first time in an age and it was just a reminder of what a hidden gem it is. A couple of folk might think it’s overrated, but given the majority of people love it on here, I think it’s one of those where wisdom of the crowd dictates the standard of the tune. It’s not forced or derivative like Noel at his worst. It’s quite nakedly emotional, and in fact sounds very much like a wiser and more mature song from that same guy who once sat in his bedsit in Manchester and wrote all great those songs years ago.

That's precisely my point. People SHOULD be talking about a new single from Noel but they aren't because were being duped with half arsed b-side offerings. Oasis singles (and even early HFB singles) used to be something that people looked forward to.

Artist play the game to appease the charting organizations. They could release things however they feel like it otherwise. In today's musical landscape I'm shocked that more artist don't go there own route and give fans a better experience.

Had another hunt about online but it seems the instrumental version of IF LOVE IS THE LAW never surfaced anywhere?
