I mean Led Zeppelin didn’t write tunes that everybody liked. They left that to The Bee Gees. The Bee Gees were fucking great, especially their 60s stuff. Indeed.

Noel is less relevant now than Beady Eye was. Ehhh...no. People know who Noel is, plus he isn't as awful as Beady Eye were. This album actually did better too. Can you please take off that 'Who fuck is Líam Gallagher?' t-shirt before you jinx Líam and he cancels the rest of his tour. Thanks.

You know that saying "go big or go home"? Well, that. Fuck you, Noel. I'll make a bet that the Noel version of that slogan would be: high odds: Make money out of the fans or go home lower odds: Go big until you reach your 50s, and then go home I hope his next album will be superb and well-marketed.

"In my book they're right up there with the Beatles in terms of how i learned to like music. But only the first few albums. Once they got into disco and all that fucking nonsense, it's music for women." live4ever.proboards.com/thread/32874The Best Of Bee Gees album from 1969 is epic.

The B-side is a slap in the face of his loyal fans. Just ridiculous. He couldn't even be bothered to spend some money on a remix. And no digital files is a joke anyway. I don't always carry my record player with me... I'm happy. The last two b-sides on the last two Noel Gallagher vinyl singles are the only officially released tracks I'm still missing from my Oasis/Liam/Noel collection. Even if I bought the singles I'd have no way to rip them or listen to them. At least this new b-side is one I already have and not some new track I won't be able to even hear.

Well at least this silliness has reminded me that Noel is actually still in an album cycle. There have been quite a few times this year I’ve completely forgotten. When was the last time he even gave an interview?

Stop buying every record in multiple formats and maybe he'll be inspired to make better stuff. Yeah but people who like it are buying them

Also it's a crime that they don't even provide a free mp3 to the people who purchased all those singles.. It should be against the law nowadays to sell vinyl without a download code.

Only reason I’m happy is that in Canada I’m not able to get alone on the rope on Apple Music or Spotify so I’m happy that I’ll finally be able to listen to it whenever. Other than that seems pretty disappointing that of all people Noel wouldn’t have a proper b-side considering how many hits he wasted on them in the 90s. Hopefully with the rumour he’s doing two albums concurrently there’ll be lots of material for those b-sides.

The real question is how a song like this somehow gets to be a single. Embarrasing. Because it has a great melody and is one of the best songs on the album.

Keith Richards supposedly had a record player in one of his car's.....I don't get the whole vinyl thing, either..... My parents had a record player, a nice one......I think; still sounded like shit, comparatively.....discovered the Beatles A Hard Day's Night, Michael Jackson's Thriller, and multiple Motown records with that classic emblem on that record player. Thanks. Just recently I gave my WBTM record a spin, the first time since I bought the record and I could hear instruments that do not exist on my digital versions, despite them being "perfect" rips. That alone made the purchase of the turntable worth it. Not only is the vinyl experience more intimate with the music, it's more crisp with greater dynamic range that digital just can't seem to reach.
I'm not even an audiophile. I don't know the first thing about it. But there is clearly a difference in quality to my ears. Using my player a couple times a month is always a good experience.

Lots of people can't dig that shrill high pitch vocal performance of their disco era, but give an honest listen to the actual music behind the voice. Melodical geniuses the lot of them. Even after their disco era, they continued on for decades making good records right up til their last.

When Noel says The Bee Gees went shit and started only making ‘music for women’, he sounds like a boring old fud who probably has a pile of Top Gear magazines stashed under his bed.
This one is an absolute belter of a tune.

The beginning of Love is the Law is most certainly the same as Arcade's Fire's Intervention off of Neon Bible. And that similarity puts me off.
Also, Love is the Law is not single-worthy. Nor do I understand why he's releasing another single when the album's been out for the best part of a year. Odd.

NGHFB: A Simple Game Of Genius Alone On The Rope
The Good Rebel Let The Lord Shine a Light On Me I'd Pick You Every Time Shoot A Hole Into The Sun CY: Do The Damage Revolution Song Leave My Guitar Alone Here's A Candle (For My Birthday Cake) The Dying Of The Light (Demo) The Girl With X-Ray Eyes (Demo) WBTM?: God Help Us All Alone On The Rope What the actual fuck, we only got 2 songs we already knew AND available.
Dead in the Water, too mind (Bonus track, same difference). Also, we didn't have God Help Us All - but it was a song that back in 2005 we desperately wanted. But Alone on the Rope? Strange, as not only do we all have it but it also dates back to his very first solo album (NGHFB). WTF?

Noel has been incredibly lazy this time around and it has been pretty disappointing. Dead On the Water - recorded 2015, bonus track and b-side. Nice song but used on 2 releases is a bit fly. God Help Us All (Demo) - recorded 2011, Japanese bonus and b-side. Agree with you, good to have it so only complaint is again it was used on 2 releases. Alone On The Rope - recorded 2011, Already released as an Amazon Germany and US album bonus track for the first High Flying Birds solo album. People will be happy to finally have the song on a physical release but I find it ridiculous he is putting a song out that has already been officially released 7 years ago. Also just to confirm it was never “leaked” back then, it was originally available to buy on Amazon U.K. for a couple of days before being removed and added to the German and US stores when the album was released. Usually I’d buy every physical format Noel would release but for this I’ve only ordered the purple vinyl from Banquet Records and only reason is it would do my head in in future having a gap in my collection.

Young Noel Gallagher who was a big fan of The Smiths was impressed that The Smiths had lots of B-sides as great as A-sides and he wanted to do same once he was in a band...

Well it’s pretty clear that when Noel bangs on about how many songs he writes he’s talking complete and utter bollocks...

Ugh, I have to say, that while I’m happy to be getting Alone on the Rope on vinyl/in lossless, I’m really starting to hate that there are three vinyl versions of all these singles. How about one vinyl version with an mp3 download? It just feels like they’re trying to squeeze every last drop of blood out out of fans and collectors in this cycle.

During the song Love is the Law, Gallagher senior includes the lyric "If love is the law then this is a crime"
This single release is being viewed as a means of daylight robbery to some, which is perhaps the "crime" that Gallagher was alluding to all along. Strategic planning.
Classic NG.
