Liam Gallagher. Interview for Il Giornale in Milan. I translated Liam's words from Italian. www.ilgiornale.it/news/spettacoli/eccessi-risse-e-tanta-musica-liam-rockstar-dura-e-pura-1441882.htmlExcesses, raws and a lot of music. Liam the hard and pure rock star.
The former Oasis man debuts as a solo artist: 'My brother Noel's records make you sleep. The end of the band is his fault'.
"I'm inspired by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, I would never make a Duran Duran record." "There's just my face on the cover, it's called As You Were, I was inspired by You Are Here, a song from John Lennon's album Mind Games and it's like I stayed true to myself." "I'm fine, I am not an alien and I will start another tour in January or February. Regrets? Not about the music, without a doubt, but in the past I had too much drink and cocaine." "I start writing at 5 in the morning, I just sit there with my guitar, I dwell, I think it over. Then at 10 past 5 I just get up and go out. There's always time to finish it because a song expires just when you're dead." "Noel broke Oasis because he couldn't give a shit and wanted his damn solo career, while I still loved them. Yes, there's still competition between us. His music? It makes me sleep. I wouldn't recommend it to people who drive because you risk falling asleep." "My mother tried to put our differences aside and then he got tired and started drinking whisky. How is she? Well, she was a very strict mum who sent me to mass when I was at school. And in the privacy of my house, deep down I was a good boy. Is she the same age as Keith Richards? Yes, but she's better than him. Furthermore, he has never worked, while she had three jobs weighing on her. A good-looking woman. And actually I look like her. Noel looks like my father instead and he was not very good-looking." "I don't chase success at all costs, I'm not Jesus Christ. I put a record out and hope people buy it, what can I do more?" "If I'd been born in Milan, maybe I wouldn't have started a band, but if I had done it, I would have probably written cheerful and carefree songs like Happy by Pharrell Williams. I'm from Manchester, instead, where you can just say 'Fuck, it's raining again' and besides music it's natural to just get into football." ![](https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2n8svms-dqI/Wbv6_pXwhwI/AAAAAAAAMTc/DYC-1lh56uY_SDAf7A-6escWrY-nJ77rwCLcBGAs/s1600/2017-09-15%2B-%2BIl%2BGiornale%2B-%2Bpage%2B34%2BLiam%2BGallagher.output.jpg)

The controversial thread title is VERY misleading.

The controversial thread title is VERY misleading. 'His music? It makes me sleep. I wouldn't recommend it to people who drive because you risk falling asleep.' These are his exact words mate. We can discuss how journalists change words but this is the exact quote we read.

I don't think one can assume, based on the thread title, that Liam is referencing only Noel's solo career like he is in this interview. That's all.

Well, they put "Noel's records make you sleep" in the title and "Noel's music makes you sleep" in the article. I think he was just referring to Noel's solo career too.

Top 3 MBV tune. Gorgeous. Fucking great tune. Is the voice deliberately buried in the mix?

Is the voice deliberately buried in the mix? Yes. The whole album is emphasized by "heavy" guitar mixes that take prominence over the vocals - similar to the drums on the Pixies' Surfer Rosa.

Not sure if you've noticed, but Noel isn't really playing this game.

Not sure if you've noticed, but Noel isn't really playing this game. ![P-)](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/aISM4jCl_eWjI5L9xvHU.gif) It only took him three go's to get a bite.

What's the purpose of the 'In the Press' section when press interviews get moved into this section?

What's the purpose of the 'In the Press' section when press interviews get moved into this section? Yeah its a bit messy. That's the Beady Eye section innit.. Liam needs his own separate section I think.

That's fair enough, but since beady eye no longer exist and, unlike oasis don't generated any significant press,it seems a bit counter intuitive to have a separate press section for them still operating but not one for Liam's solo career which is in full swing. It's hardly surprising people get a bit confused sometimes.

It's hardly surprising people get a bit confused sometimes. I'd prefer it if there were no more subboards. there are too many subbboards. In any case, I'd suggest we rename "Facts and Fiction" to "Beady Eye", move everything that's about the band to that subboard and use "In The Press" for Liam interviews and such tagging webm@ster as he is the one who decides these things and the one able to make any changes in the forum structure

Liam does have a point. My sleeping albums are Harvest, High Violet and Noel at Royal Albert Hall.

What's the purpose of the 'In the Press' section when press interviews get moved into this section? Because this thread is about Liam interview, I moved it to this board this morning with notification that it got moved. I don't think OP would have had a problem with it. webm@ster, I agree everything eva said.

Would love to get Noël and Líam on the Steve Wilkos Show, Steve would have all their nonsense sorted out in an hour's episode, including commercial breaks.
Thanks.
