10:15 Saturday Night At Night Drowning Man One Hundred Years A Night Like This Just Like Heaven Fascination Street (extended mix is better) From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea The Last Day of Summer Underneath the Stars Some fan favourites in there with a couple hits. It's all mostly dark stuff. That said, the Cure as are brilliant at fun, poppy tunes as they are at dark, gloomy ones. Stay tuned for a lighter side of the Cure playlist.

Pink Floyd. I only know the hits. Did nobody answer this?? Floyd are my favourite band of all time but what you need to understand before you try to get into them is they’re essentially 3 or 4 bands rolled into one, Not in the way that bands like Radiohead changed their sound over time but they literally had different leaders and members over their 30 years as a band, in fact the only member to have played on every Floyd album is the Drummer Nick Mason! The era’s are as such; The Syd Barratt era (1965-1968)- Syd was the lead Guitarist, singer and songwriter of the original Pink Floyd. He left/got booted out in 1968 after just one full album after going a bit mad and highly unreliable (drugs eh?). These songs are a million miles away from the hey-day of Pink Floyd (written by a different songwriter will do that). Notable songs from this era; See Emily Play, Arnold Layne, Astromine Domine, Interstella Overdrive, The ‘Band’ Era (1968-1973)- David Gilmour for all intents and purposes replaced Syd (although they did briefly work as a 5 piece). After losing Syd who was their leader and creative force they really struggled to find their sound. Each member contributed in some form and the bulk of songwriting was shared between Waters, Wright and Gilmour. The albums from this era are a really mixed bag and take Prog as far as it can go. Notable songs from the era; Echoes, One of These Days, Atom Heart Mother, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, The Waters Era (1973-1983)- This could almost be split in two between the Waters lead era and the Waters dominated era. By 1973 Roger Waters was writing all of Pink Floyd’s lyrics and as thus creating the concepts between their albums. The first of these ‘concepts’ was The Dark Side of the Moon’ which did quite well… They were much more focused and had found their way of working. This period is the Golden era, as subsequent albums Wish You Were Here and Animals were also Classics. This lead to Waters taking complete control of the band writing not only the lyrics but practically all the music too. The albums The Wall and The Final Cut are all but Water’s solo projects with Gilmour hardly featuring and Wright being fired. Notable songs from this era; Money, Another Brick in the Wall (pt2), Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, Us and Them, Hey You, Dogs, The Gilmour Era (1986-1995) After The Final Cut, Waters decided to go solo and because he practically was Pink Floyd at this stage he thought the Band and its name would just dissolve,… he was wrong. Dave Gilmour fought and won for the name and the band (well Gilmour and Mason) continued. The sound is radically different to what happened before it was very 80’s radio rock and in my opinion pretty awful but I’m sure people out there will like it, Notable songs from the era; Learning to Fly, Coming Back to Life, High Hopes Sorry for waffling on but I feel with a band like Pink Floyd a playlist wouldn’t flow very well because you’d have 60’s flower power pop next to 23 minute prog, next to political piano ballads and then cheesy 80’s rock! My opinion is the 1971-1979 is the iconic stuff but I also know plenty who hate that period but love the Barrett era

Bumping this thread partly as a bit of shameless self-promotion but mostly because there are still a few outstanding requests. It'd also be nice to have feedback from people who have taken the plunge and potentially discovered a new favorite band?

The Pixies anyone?
I saw a film recently (Knock Knock, great film and truly disturbing thriller) and this song featured at the end. Made me think of the Strokes 'Is This It?' a bit but I learnt its from the Pixies.
Loving this tune. Anyone know any others?

No one's asked for it and I know there aren't many people here into them (apart from @mimmihops) but all day I've been making a personal favourites list for the Buzzcocks. I'm a fan who enjoys their 1977-82 classics as much as their releases since reuniting (even though the early stuff is without a doubt classic) You Say You Don't Love Me Reconciliation I Don't Mind Disappointment Nostalgia Friends Mad Mad Judy Isolation Love is Lies You Know You Can't Help It Autonomy Running Free Like Oasis, Buzzcocks have 2 front men: Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle. The first half is songs by Pete Shelley, the second Steve Diggle songs. Both great but mentioned that in case someone thought they changed singers midway through. They also had Howard Devote in very begin too , but Pete Shelly made that typical Buzzcocks sound. He's one of the kings of melody maker.
