Do you reckon this will increase the chances of Noel playing Half The World Away at the december gigs?

Do you reckon this will increase the chances of Noel playing Half The World Away at the december gigs? As long as he doesn't start playing Aurora's version like he did with Ryan Adams and Wonderwall

1 = Adele - Hello 2 +3 Fleur East - Sax 3 -1 Justin Bieber - Sorry 4 = AURORA - Half the World Away 5 -2 WSTRN - In2 6 +1 Sam Smith - Writing's on the Wall 7 -1 Coldplay - Adventure of a Lifetime On Spotify the song has been streamed 325k times worldwide, and it's currently #51 in the UK. Oasis' version is still #27 while Time Flies is #41 (on iTunes). Also The Masterplan (the album) was #68 on 7 november and #70 yesterday. First two days ever on iTunes Top 200 www.itunescharts.net/uk/artists/music/oasis/albums/the-masterplan/Anyway I've gotta say I quite like the cover, it's not that bad.

Always loved this song so I did a cover and it's gone down pretty well - 30k views in two days. I used Noel's phrasing, as I prefer it to Auroras.
Love the progression in this song - another example of Noel's incredible songwriting skill. Thinking of doing Whatever next. What do you think?

Wonder what Liam thinks of this? Not a fan to be honest but if it gets some kids into Oasis then that can only be a good thing, can't beat royle family credits imho According to this Mirror article I just found (not that that's a reliable source by any means) Liam doesn't like it: www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/liam-gallagher-labels-brother-noel-6877039Liam Gallagher labels brother Noel a ''sell-out'' over Oasis song in John Lewis Christmas advert
22:30, 21 NOV 2015 UPDATED 22:49, 21 NOV 2015 BY SHARON FEINSTEIN The former frontman hit out after Noel allowed Half The World Away to be used as the soundtrack for the department store’s marketing campaign Furious Liam Gallagher has branded his brother a sell-out for allowing an Oasis song to appear in the John Lewis Christmas advert... and banned him from their family pub. The former frontman hit out at Noel after he allowed Half The World Away to be used as the soundtrack for the department store’s hugely popular marketing campaign. Sources close to the rockers say Liam is so mad with Noel that he’s told other family members not to invite him to their local pub in Ireland, where they usually visit over the festive period. The pair had both been expected to visit their mum Peggy in her native Ireland over the Christmas holidays, where she has a home in Charlestown, County Mayo. But sharp-tongued Liam is understood to have told friends he doesn’t want to see his brother. One pal said: “Liam has been making his usual snidey remarks about the song being on the John Lewis advert. “When he first heard about it he was ranting in his own local pub in Hampstead, north London, to just about anyone who’d listen. “He’s told mutual friends and family that Noel is a sell-out, and even joked that he won’t be welcome in the local pub near their mum’s house, J J Finan’s - not that he can enforce that!” The pal added: “He accused Noel of being shameless for letting John Lewis use the track, and has told family he doesn’t want the pair’s visit to cross over.” The pub’s landlady, Bridie Finnan, revealed Liam is a regular in the area and explained: “He comes here for peace really, no one blinks because they’re very used to him. “His mother comes from Charleston, the family had a shop here. "Peggy comes every few weeks from Manchester.” John Lewis’ advert sees the Oasis song covered by Scandinavian singer Aurora, and quickly went viral online when it was released in collaboration with charity Age UK. The scenes highlight the number of elderly people who will be spending Christmas alone, with the covered soundtrack creeping into the top ten this week, 21 years after it was first released. It was previously the theme tune to hit BBC sitcom The Royle Family.

Liam has used the stage to promote Pretty Green on a few occasions, and has to my knowledge not denied that one source of his conflict with Noel on the final tour was over him wanting advertising in the tour programme for his fashion label on non-commercial terms i.e. free of charge. Can't help but wonder if Liam would have taken the same attitude financially if it was him being offered the publishing royalties for one of his songs in a major advertising campaign? I can't remember him calling out Andy Bell (Only The Strongest Will Survive for The Sun) or Gem Archer (Hung In a Bad Place for Victoria's Secret) for similar moves either....

Liam was in a band that sold nearly 80 million records. He should shut up about selling out.

Gotta get those royalty cheques in somehow. Aside, it's not like Oasis or the Gallaghers' themselves didn't 'sell out' /sarcasm. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever at all, and about 99% of people would've done the same, me included. If those claims are true, then what about Beady Eye performing at the Olympics? What about the Pretty Green clothing line? What about Beady Eye appearing on The Voice? etc. It's like when a punk band gets big. Everyone sells out, in some form. Look at Creation Records. I love it when artists 'sell out'. If you don't 'wanna, then fair enough.
