Arctic Monkeys: Just totally generic indie as far as I'm concerned, like indie for people who want to like indie. Boards of Canada: I just don't think their influence over electronica is that great, you can hear similar sounds all over WR before Music has the Right to Children etc... Blur: A decent pop band, absolutely nothing more. Bruce Springsteen: Ok, this is where shit gets heavy. I can't stand Bruce Springsteen. I respect him both as a singer and creative talent but his songs make me feel borderline depressed with their American blandness. The Rolling Stones: Don't know why I don't like them, I just know that not once in my life have I enjoyed listening to them. Led Zeppelin: Meh. Keane: Just to annoy mystoryisgory ...At least we're both cool enough to like Coldplay Still pretty much agree with this. I wouldn't say Adeles overrated as I never really hear her being praised or critically admired, she just sells loads. Although, I can't believe I didn't mention the big one - ABBA. I fucking despise ABBA. Sound tracking middle aged weddings the world over. You can throw Nirvana in there too. Thank you for sharing my views on ABBA! Here in Sweden I'd get charged with high treason if I were to express my distaste for them.

- Foo Fighters are a decent enough band and Dave's clearly a great guy, but the amount of exposure they get is almost suffocating. Year after year, after year, the mainstream media single out the band as their 'rock option', regardless of what the band releases. People are far too hesitant to push any kind of criticism on Good Guy Grohl simply because no one likes to shit on the protagonist. They want him to succeed and the good guys have to don't they? - Feel free to disagree but I think Coldplay's gameplan is (and always has) been popularity driven and to me that's just about as lame as it gets. A couple of okay albums from the noughties and people seem to think they're world beaters. Predictable, boring and recently, embarrassing.- Weezer just seem to be one of those bands people seem to have fond memories of back in the day and carry a soft spot for. The amount of nostalgia fuelled hard-ons people get over The Blue Album and Pinkerton just baffles me. Royal Blood - A pretty decent duo whose success more accurately reflects the lack of 'heavy' rock outfits appealing to mainstream rock and indie fans, rather than the quality of the small amount of material they have produced so far. An exciting sound for the indie-kids. Taylor Swift - Is it any coincidence that she exploded in popularity after she teamed up with Max Martin? He's namechecked as a writer in every single one of 1989's singles and the only single I can recall from her the album before that. Can pop singers sell out? Because it looks like she gave in. Well didn't that ring out to be truer than ever? On the point about Nirvana, I personally don't think they are overrated (they were fucking great) but unfortunately they're one of the most overexposed bands ever. The media just can't let go of them.Thom Yorke - A man who has the crafted enough respect in the world of music to now make the people do the hard work of (over) analysing any new material he produces and then having the genial aura to make people feverishly cherish any grain of a good idea he has spat out. That Villain soundtrack piece he recently released was an exercise in nothingness and should have been treated as one. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy and think he is (or more so was) very talented, but all too often he's titillating the beard strokers and that's far too near the bullshit for my liking. And he sings like a wounded cat.

Reminds me of some of Lennon's writing on his Double Fantasy record. John Lennon really came out swinging in 1980 when beginning his musical comeback. Awesome stuff. - (Just Like) Starting Over - I'm Losing You - Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) - Watching the Wheels - Woman - I'm Stepping Out - Nobody Told Me - Borrowed Time

Some bands I don't as much as other peole do:
Queen: Hate May's guitar sound, don't like Mercury's voice. But more than anything, I can't stand most of their songs.
U2: Hate Bono's vocals. Some of their biggest songs I can't stand (With Or Without You, Sunday Bloody Sunday) and don't find anything enjoyable from their music.
Nirvana: I don't hate it as much as some bands I put on here, but really never understood their appeal. I've heard Nevermind and In Utero, and felt bored. I find them unidimensional.
Coldplay: I enjoy the first album. But that's it. I hate everything they did since X&Y. The most overrated album from them being Viva La Vida, which is often prised on here but that I think is mediocre. Can't stand mister Martin vocals.
Other bands:
Artic Monkeys The Libertines Muse (awful band) Green Day (awful band)

VIVA LA VIDA IS FUCKING AMAZING.
Freddie has one of the most amazing rock voices ever. EVER.
Agree on U2 though. To me they are THE definition of meat and potatoes rock.

Someone hasn't heard Zooropa Agree about Viva la Vida though, all-time favourite for me. I don't really know why people are saying Green Day, surely everyone who isn't a mildly insecure teenage girl knows they're awful?

Ed Sheeran. I'm sure he's a nice bloke, but his music is so generic and dull. It pisses me off when I do have parties and mates tell me "bring your guitar, mate!". 95% of the time you have a girl who asks me to play some "Ed Sheeran" or "1D"... ahh, what a vision of the acoustic by the majority of teenage girls where I live, amazing ! (sarcasm)
