I don't know if there are any Doctor Who fans but if there are then who is your favourite actor to play the Doctor?
I'd go with Christopher Eccleston. He had the perfect mix between humour and gravitas and was an excellent person to restart this classic series.

Tough one this, as they've all brought something great and unique to what has become an iconic sci-fi character. I'm especially enjoying Peter Capaldi's take on the role.
I voted Tom Baker. Patrick Troughton would be a close second for me. There's a real warmth and mystery in his portrayal. Someone once said his version had a sense of a Chaplin-esque "little man who plays havoc with the system" about it, and that's one aspect of the character that appeals to me. That mischievous, jokey quality that leads his enemies to underestimate him.
Tom Baker developed that even further, with a self-aware sense of humour that's become the character's trademark. I do enjoy those moments where the Doctor undercuts the seriousness of a scene by flippant humour. I guess you'd call it gallows humour, jokes made in the face of death. I find that aspect quite similar to Blackadder.
One that sticks in my mind from a Tom Baker episode.
Here's one from the Caves of Androzani, written by Robert Holmes and starring Peter Davison in the title role.

Two years I'd have said that for me it would be close race between Troughton, Tom Baker and Davison. But Capaldi is just knocking it out of the ball park.

David Tennant!
Capaldi is pretty cool and I did like Christopher Eccleston, Matt Smith not so much. Haven't watched much Classic Doctor Who (because I really don't like it!) but from what I have seen I think Tom Baker was the best.

Not seen the latest series yet, though I hear Capaldi is killing it.

YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF DOCTOR WHO??!! The names sounds a little bit familiar but, no, I don't know what it is Wow that's so strange for a Brit to hear... It's like that thing from another thread where someone hadn't heard of The Beatles... Its a 50 year old sci-fi show about an alien "Time Lord" called The Doctor (leading people to ask "Doctor Who?" when they meet him) who travels in space and time in a ship called the TARDIS which is a phone-box on the outside but near-infinitely big on the inside. When he is "killed" he regenerates into a completely different person. So far there have been 12 doctors and this poll is about which one is best My favourite:

Eccleston was great as the Doctor, and that's one of my favourite scenes of his. Such intensity there. Another was his spellbinding speech about "the turn of the earth" in Rose, the first episode of the revived series.
A pity he only stayed for one series, but he left a great legacy for the show in recreating the character for a new audience.
