Noel really needs to do an acoustic version of this song once, not only because it sounds amazing on just guitar and vocals (give it a try if you play guitar), but because it would show just how brilliant it is from the songwriting point alone, which I think a lot of people are missing because they are put off by the arrangement. I love how he twists the melody, going up and down in I'll be waiting, come what may I'll find, and just when your ear is expecting the melody to stay there and be resolved, there is another twist in (I'll find) YOU. Genius.

It is a "really good" song in my opinion. Can't wait to hear this live, but I fear he's gonna struggle with it. There are some tricky notes in this one.

too many people on this forum are stuck in 1995. Its over, embrace evolution and natural progression. This is a unique and beautiful song with 70s disco rock elements and brushes of "the smiths" via Johnny Marr's bits. Also Noel is sounding fantastic.

It's just okay I think. Where's the hook? It's kinda boring isn't it? How the fuck someone could think it's amazing is beyond me! Some people need to get their nose out of Noel's ass! How? Maybe because someone isn't expecting another Supersonic/DLBIA every time a new Gallagher song is coming out, and isn't still stuck in the '90s (or worse, the '60s). Or maybe because someone has broader musical tastes and can appreciate influences and sounds coming from other genres. Honestly, I don't know. What I know for sure is that people have different tastes and they should learn to respect opinions Just because I don't think this song is amazing doesn't mean I'm stuck in 90s or I don't have broad musical taste. Making that assumption is as bad as me or anyone else saying that this song is shit, which I didn't, I said it was okay and a bit boring. By the way, for the record, I like when Noel try's new things, I think Alone On The Rope is a fantastic song. But I'm finding it hard to like this, strange choice for a single.

I don't have any problem if you don't think the song is amazing (neither do I, I'm loving it so far but it's not Live Forever, nor Champagne Supernova). And I don't have any clue about your musical taste, you might be into Katy Perry or heavy metal, I don't really know and I don't really care. What I do care, and I have a problem with, is people insulting each other because of different (reasonable) opinions. And that was exactly the last part of your post, which I quoted in bold. You know, people might love this song for real, not only because Master Noel gave 'em another cookie...

It's pretty good. I like the song structure though I find the "chorus" a bit repetitive. I REALLY dislike the vocal in the "I'll find you" parts. Vocals are great in the rest of the song. I like the lyrics and that it's different. It's like WAL's little (or big?) sister. I guess I appreciate the different direction in terms that it could get Noel some new fans, but I honestly just like "classic Noel" more. I personally don't appreciate "evolution" in an artist so much unless it's like the Beatles.
It sounded amazing in the first listen and couldn't get it off my head all day but on a third and fourth listen I'm not liking it so much.
Could work well in the charts with some good marketing.

Fanboys and haters are everywhere, unfortunately, and they're equally annoying. It gets worse in the first days after the release of a song, when opinions tend to be more polarized, if you get what I mean... people saying it's shit VS people crying that it's the best thing in the history of music. And endless, annoying fights... It's better to be cautious. And always respectful too... As I've said, at the moment I'm loving the song... let's see if I'll get tired of it in a few weeks! I respect your opinion, and I really hope it'll be a grower for you Cheers!

I agree. I've said it before that I'm glad Noel's trying something new but it's just not for me. This kind of style doesn't make Noel great - writing great, memorable melodies that stick with you for years to come does. I can appreciate him for making music like this, but IMO it's not needed. Sometimes I wish the AA album had came out so songs like this would have a more rightful spot. But I'm glad it's been enjoyed by others and I don't want to be selfish and say things like a more well produced and complete version of Bye Bye, My Family would've made for a much better choice for the albums closer instead if this. I'm sure I'll get what I'm looking for from the rest of the album.

You don't have to be "stuck in the 90's" to not like the song, there is some valid criticism too.

I get the feeling that the song started as two separete ideas, and then Noel (and the folks of FSOL, maybe) merged them into one.

I was going to post the chords when I realised somebody had done it already. Take a look at the first contribution here: live4ever.proboards.com/post/1164094/threadI hope I can find the time to tab Marr's guitar parts one of these days.

i did not get it....... I don't care if he expiremeted .... he no longer can write it seems ....If this was 95 ....and wrote this he would not be nicknamed " the chief " This is the point I just don't get, cause it's easily the most mature song Noel has written in ages. The constant key changes, the way the melody twists and turns, rising up and down until arriving at that soaring chorus. Everything is deceptively simple on the surface yet quite complex when you look into it. And still catchy as fuck. That's the kind of thing that made The Beatles great in my opinion. And I didn't even mention the arrangement. I mean, go and compare this to The Hindu Times. It's leaps and bounds above that, it hardly seems to be the work of the same songwriter.

I think it's better than anything from the first album.
BOTMI and ITHOTM don't "plod" like most tracks from the first album. They're more exciting. And the production is also more interesting.

For me it got better, though I'm not saying this is a big hit.
Verses very Lady Gaga with the layered voices.
