Seen Catfish for the first time, absolutely smashed it on their biggest headline gig to date (they're playing for 20k people in a week now), soz. Much better than the studio versions, too bad they chose a producer like Dave Sardy for their 2nd work, but it looks like he's always involved in successful projects. Only 1 new song though, shame. Anyway: www.facebook.com/catfishandthebottlemen/videos/vb.165173797505/10154262654432506/?type=2&theater60 weeks on chart for The Balcony as of yesterday, the lads keep goin'. Not only this, apparently Catfish are under Ignition Management (as we know, both Noel and Oasis are signed), not ATC anymore. Plus, their new song "7" has been played at a obscure gig 4 years ago

BTW, this is my highlight. Crazy crowd, probably the best crowd I've ever seen after Kasabian. Helter Skelter by the Beatles as intro was class too

When you can't even sing your own song. www.facebook.com/catfishandthebottlemen/videos/10154281377842506/Thank you to every last one of you who sold that tour out as quick as it did. You made those nights what they were. It’s a mad feeling, hearing every word back and playing rooms like that off our first album! So grateful yknow… We’re straight in to finish these new songs off for the 2nd album with Sir Dave Sardy… Can’t wait for next year. It’s gonna be classsss! Van x

It's not going to be classsss, because "sir Dave Sardy" will produce it.

sir Dave Sardy? I think 'sir' must be a misspelling of 'that clueless monstrosity of a producer'.

I don't know what's the point with Dave Sardy. I don't like every single thing he produced, for the production. But he still produced (or mixed) stuff for Oasis, Noel Gallagher, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay Z, Primal Scream, System of a Down, The Killers and, apparently, The Rolling Stones (mixed a Bigger Bang), Johnny Cash (Engineered) etc. plus he produced tv soundtracks for The Sopranos, One Tree Hill etc. So it looks like he's involved in successful projects and apparently some of those won a Grammy (not that it means something, we know that very well).
Plus I don't think he's what Catfish need. Their debut album is too poppy on the studio compared to how it sounds live. But if he brings ASA on the second album (originally Rango's b-side, then it disappeared) I'll kiss him because that song looks like it is written about a person I know, like exactly. And it is deffo better than the new song they debuted anyway.
As someone on the comments said I'd like to hear an unplugged version of The Balcony. I love those vocals at 2:10

Because y'all keep saying they're shit ? ok they are but stop, you seem obsessed! Anyway it was just a 10k-capacity outdoor gig in Manchester for July that will sold out in 1 minute, nothing important. But the 2nd album is confirmed and it will be released before summer for sure, I guess. Meanwhile Dave Sardy keeps tweeting things like "New Catfish album...world owning tracks of epic proportion", I hate you David Sardy.

Dave Sardy? Just an appalling producer - what Oasis and Noel saw in him I will never know. God help this forum if he ever becomes involved with any of them ever again.
It was the musical equivalent of Paul McCartney marrying Heather Mills. As for Catfish and Sardy, well it's a match made in hell.

You know its bad when a band who are trying to appeal to fanbases like Oasis get criticized by said fanbases.

New single?
Catfish are now officially under Ignition Management, they updated their website. No wonder why they're doing the same small-medium festival as Noel
EDIT: confirmation from BBC Radio 1's website
"Catfish and the Bottlemen Annie Mac Catfish and the Bottlemen deliver the Hottest Record, plus Annie announces a special live gig for the show and eases into the week with the Power Down Playlist."

Really don't get the love for these guys. There like a shit Kasabian/Stereophonics whilst trying to be Oasis. As Noel would say "fucking rubbish". I even prefer that track the 1975 ( ) came out with that sounds like Peter Gabriel, this one: At least it's semi interesting music.

I know people hate them because of their fans and their quite poppy sound, but The 1975 are pretty fucking good I used to think i didn't like them, never hated them or anything just wasn't into them, but heard The Sound on the radio the other day and thought it was a banger so gave them more of a listen and I actually think they're good. I think the album is decent, bit hit and miss, but I really like the EPs. Can definitely feel the Sigur Ros influence on some of the songs like Facedown and fallingforyou. I think You is probably my favourite of theirs, no idea how it never made the album!
