What do you all think of them? Personally, I think they're great! Really talented singer/songwriter. Echoes of Oasis/The Strokes/Stereophonics for me,

I like some songs from their debut album. They're good with what they're doing so far.

I really enjoy The Balcony, I grew to like them pretty quickly - it's a great combination of energy and catchy songwriting.

Although I do enjoy Royal Blood, they are a "buzz band" that have been endorsed by the NME and Q. Catfish and the Bottlemen have worked hard selling EP's and demos to get their current success. Long may it continue. There IS good music out there, thank Christ.

First things I heard were Rango and Pacifier about a year or so ago and really liked them. Have listened to most of the album and it sounds consistently strong. Good band.

I have become obsessed with this album and the band, they are the real deal, I can feel it. The singer Van is an amazing songwriter and the melodies and musicianship are top notch. Tyrants, Fallout, and Homesick are some of the best songs I've ever heard

I regularly try to listen their album again and again. But I still don't understand the hype, they sound "too american", "too Coldplay" for me. Cocoon is the perfect example. All the songs sound the same. They will be successful though, it's good pop rock, pop indie, or whatever you want to call it, but nothing special IMHO.

Too American and too Coldplay strikes me as a contradiction - but anyway, what's the similarity between the Bottlemen and Coldplay? I'm struggling to see it myself.

Coldplay's sound is more american than british, imho. They're just like Maroon 5, a pop band. C'mon, A Sky Full of stars is pop, electro pop. C&B are good, but they sound too pop for me. I do prefer Temples and Royal Blood

Finding these guys alright so far, Tyrants is a tune and half. That is definitely one of my favorites. I also think Fallout could be my favorite from them, especially the outro melody and everything, that is sublime

A bit lad rock with a few catchy tunes. Would have been absolutely massive in 2006. Can see that they'd be amazing live.

They're growing a little bit on me and I reckon they're good in what they do and I respect them because they toured the whole United Kingdom multiple times just like Oasis did before releasing the first album. But it's not my cup of tea, I hope that their 2nd album will be less pop rock "american sounding".

Could anybody recommend some songs to me please? Tyrants is the only one that has stuck with me at the moment, probably the best song I've discovered this year.

Just saw and met them on Friday. They were great. See the post below this for my encounter with Van about Oasis.
