I've always imagined a lot of the frustrations with Beady Eye steamed from Liam's unrealistic expectations of the band. The man is full of confidence, it's one of his strengths but I feel he had a very hard time accepting smaller gigs and album sales. I'm sure he expected a #1 album and commercial success slightly below what DOYS gave in terms of album sales. I mean Liam was the iconic singer in one of the best bands of the 90s yet couldn't generate a hit album or single. That's gotta be maddening to Liam. They had two potential hit singles, it hurt them that they were released to radio and then not sold at the same time and who was the genious that trought that CD sales didnt mattered? Yeah it wasn't meant to be a Number one album with two # 1 singles but my god sometimes the promotion of the material of the gallagher brothers makes me think that the company they use are clueless to the modern times(or are struck in the 60's, which fitted the way BDI was shot and their sound for the first LP).Pretty much. Just look at how they're doing the release of Chasing Yesterday. The first single was posted on Youtube a couple weeks ago, but isn't going to be released for another two weeks, with the album coming in March. Just from that alone, I'm convinced someone lives in 1995 on Noel's management team because the separation of the single & album release dates are almost the same as MG

I was in my sweat lodge meditating/spacing out today and was thinking about how unsurprising the break up of BDi really is.....both album promotions ended horrifically, both times ending with a split with management; that's never a good thing. God bless. I've always imagined a lot of the frustrations with Beady Eye steamed from Liam's unrealistic expectations of the band. The man is full of confidence, it's one of his strengths but I feel he had a very hard time accepting smaller gigs and album sales. I mean Liam was the iconic singer in one of the best bands of the 90s yet couldn't generate a hit album or single. That's gotta be maddening to Liam. It takes a certain amount of delusion to accomplish great things, and I like and admire that in people, but at a certain point a little reality has to come into play, especially in a financial sense, like with touring within a realistic budget - not staying in the nicest hotels, etc. The entire BDi experience to me was very Spinal Tap-esque, which is fucking awesome but also sad. As I've stated previously, if BDi came out and said the entire thing was a spoof then they'd become my favorite band ever. God bless.

I think the lack of clarity of why BE have split is a bit disrespectfull to the fans. To not even issue a statement is just lazy. I'm pretty sure Liam must have something planned else there would be no point in splitting Beady Eye up and instead just go on a hiatus. If it's a solo album its a very brave move...

DGSS, imo, was a success in every term. the album sold good enough in uk and around the world (even a top 40 album in US, #3 in UK with big 1st week sales behing Adele FGS, also in japan etc). The reviews were good, in the same level as post BHN oasis era at least, with a positive feeling. Their tour was also big enough, playing many big festivals (with their own songs) and gigs everywhere in the world and thanks God we have great live material from many gigs with excellent performances from Liam and the band. They could have at least 2-3 good hit singles but 1) released "Bring The Light" as a free download and later as a limited release single on 7" vinyl but it managed to chart at #61!definitely a lost chance cause with a proper release, the momentum, the good reviews and the excellent b side it could chart high in the charts. 2) same mistake here with the excellent "Four Letter World" (first video and then as a limited edition 7). 3) huge mistake also with "the roller" (first video, then digital -FFS- release and 7')peaking at number 31, a song that could easily make it to the top10 ot top 20 and become their "What a life". "The Roller", with 5 million youtube views was their ticket to bigger sales and a long album run in the charts but again they v missed that chance. Then ...came NGHFB's album with the same or sometimes worst reviews but the chart success of "What a life" gave legs to the album and the hit single kept people's attention. Then followed the big sales and somehow everyone started to compare Beady Eye with the sales of Noel and suddenly everything changed for worst.not fair but thats life and Liam was always an easy and good target for poor journalism...
"BE" started with a bang (D.Sitek, better-modern sound) but ended with a whisper... Lower sales, a lost -again- chance for a uk #1 (Black Sabbbath this time) even if the 1st week sales could make it #1 almost every other week of the year, no US release and a lost chance of another top 40 album... reviews were good saying that 2nd album was better than 1st. The promo was clever with the acoustic performances, the 3 live gigssomething like Beady Eye to the people, with a very friendly Liam.Everything waz rite... "FOTF" leaked , the stems ended badly...no single, no hit with probably their best song. "SBOTA" got great reviews from critics but failed with the people... The band continued their plan but somehow luck was something unfamilliar with BE... Liam's problemsa and two bad performances (T in The Park, ibiza) made Liam to look like the worst person in britain.so much hate... then came Gem's health, they cancelled festivals and gigs, just 1 month after the release of the album the promo was dead...the reboot (new gigs, Liam's performance with friends) was too late to bring life to the album and everything started to die slowly...
blah blah blah...its easy to say all these things now...no matter what I M STILL IN LOVE WITH BEADY EYE and their music...

That was not what I meant. I meant everyone keeps repeating the same thing, the exact same thing and it gets kind of boring.

You just repeated your post about being bored of people repeating things, people repeat things on forums repeatedly. Maybe you'll just have to get used to the repetition and try not to repeat your points about repeating repeats so often.

If Liam made a solo album I'd be pumped.
He knows how to write great tunes, sure it ain't the most clever kind of music but fuck it. I could use another Beatlesque record with some good rock n roll grooves any day. Bring it Liam!
