Another new Smashing Pumpkins single. More rocking than their first. Not bad, not bad. I didn't know any songs from this new album so I'll have to give it a listen. Thanks for posting. What do you make of the tunes?

Prepare for the fanboying...
D'ANGELO'S NEW RECORD CAME OUT ON MONDAY!
It's phenomenal. "Black Messiah" is the best album I've heard all year. The stakes were high since he hadn't released anything since 2000, but did he ever deliver. It was absolutely worth the 14 year wait.

Not saying its a poor album, but its an hilarious attempt at Pitchfork to seem like they are 'in with the crowd' and exclaiming 'look, we get it too!'. Pitchfork's just an upmarket version of the NME - they don't rate music on its own merits, instead rating albums on their narrow minded views to keep in line with their hip subtrends. A shame, because when they are honest and their minds are clear from the distortion of their hipness, they are brilliant. The most balanced reviews I've ever read is AllMusic - which, referenced in its title, encompasses and appreciates ALL types of music, so there's no possibility of bias or distortion. Genuinely the best music review site in the world.

Pitchfork is garbage. And I'm sorry to say this, because many reviews are very well written.
I've just been on the site: the new Nicki Minaj album got 7.5/10, compared to NGHFB which got 5/10 or something like that. Heathen Chemistry was rated 1.5/10 if I remember correctly. I don't really mind ratings but... are you fucking kidding me?? Fuckin' Nicki Minaj? Dear God, forgiver these sinners...

He responded, "I'll pass, Allmusic gave it 1.5 stars". Last time I looked it well above 1.5 stars.

Yeah, they spout all this pseudo-intellectual bollocks that they think will make the readers convinced they are intelligent enough to know what is going on. "They're using big words? Then it MUST be right."

Plus, they are mostly well written re-reviews if its the case. The review for The Masterplan is utterly infuriating. Note that it came at a time (1998) when Oasis were unfashionable. Once again, they go along with the trend, jumping on any passing bandwagon being the charlatans that they are.
