The Prodigy - How To Steal a Jetfighter should finally be getting its long overdue release this year. Other than that I'm not really waiting on anything, I suspect our Noel's got something out this year though.

And Coldplay if they'll release something Don't worry, Coldplay will indeed release their album this year... The only thing I will be waiting this year is NGHFB, Foster The People, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and Radiohead...

Apparently both Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and their pianist Benmont Tench are releasing albums in 2014

NGHFB and The Cure hopefully. I'm sure I'll be surprised and like more albums than those two but they're the only two I'm looking forward to

I'd like to think The Stone Roses will release something this year - they're very unconventional, so may be they might surprise us like David Bowie did last year? Would also love to think Blur would release an album this year, but a Damon Albarn solo record will do just fine for the moment. Would like to think Fleet Foxes and Twilight Sad release this year also (mimmi, is there confirmation for the Sad?).
Nothing's really been confirmed for Noel or Coldplay I don't think? If so, they will drop a record towards the latter end of the year. I feel with Noel I'm guaranteed quality. Not expecting anything adventurous, but I'd be happy with a standard of tunes similar to High Flying Birds.
Interested about Coldplay - thought the last album was poor, and for me, their first bad album. I'd like to see them go back to their melancholic tones of earlier years - the album Viva La Vida was excellent due to its variety but the band have been a bit too sprightly and happy of late. I remember when many of their tunes were influenced by the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen (particularly the b-sides) rather than Rihanna - hoping for the former style rather than latter.
U2 is the most fascinating release for me - it's make or break time. I think they seriously dropped the ball on their last album so hopefully they have been mulling over it all for the last 5 years and release something brilliant. I'm not expecting another Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby, but I hope they surprise us with a new sound again. Perhaps for a band that are now in their early 50s, that is wishful thinking but I can dream.
Bruce Springsteen is the first one to release an album set for January 14th - usually guaranteed quality with his records of late so should be good.
Embrace's return is waaaaaaaay overdue, while I'm looking forward to Elbow's album, particularly as their last two have been really great. That band are so good live, I'm half expecting them to headline Glastonbury.

That band are so good live, I'm half expecting them to headline Glastonbury. - Noel and Damon are both going to deliver the goods at some point this year. I am VERY excited for both their albums! I expect Damon's album to vary in many genres and directions. Noel will boringly play it safe but like yo said, you know we are going to get a quality album for sure. - Coldplay could go either way. Mylo Xyloto was bogged down by combining two different album ideas. Originally they were making a acoustic type album, then it morphed into a more experimental, poppy one. It ended up being a mixed bag of ideas despite having excellent tunes like Hurts Like Heaven, Charlie Brown, Us Against The World and Major Minus. I even like Paradise ( ). Perhaps their song "Atlas" from the Hunger games is pointing towards a return to the Rush of Blood era sound. Who knows... - As far as U2, man this fucking band takes forever to record music. I'm not even sure if this new project is the Danger Mouse album or not. I hope it is. The song Ordinary Love from that Nelson Mandela film sounded promising.

Ed Harcourt's new album will be digitally released tomorrow. I have to wait for another 2 weeks for CD release. Also it's time for Lisa Germano's new album too! Temples debut album leaked today for all those who care. Happy hunting. I clicked "Like" button cos I thought it's released yesterday, so I unclicked it. Please don't tell me anything about their long waited debut album until I buy it. Wowow, James, never change your haircut! Twilight Sad release this year also (mimmi, is there confirmation for the Sad?). They said that they'll start recording for their new album after their King Tut's gigs just before the Christmas, so I take it will be released somewhere between Spring and Summer. Meanwhile they'll re-release 12 inch vinyl of their debut album on this years Record Store Day.
