I saw them Saturday. I've seen them twice before that. Honestly one of the best and most consistent bands ever. This gig was a 20 year celebration of the band and they literally played 30 songs. A career expanding set that had a double encore. They are kinda past their creative peak but they are a remarkably consistent band. One that regularly shows why they are one of the best around. Tweedy is one of the best songwriters of his generation.

God bless.

I'm really warming up to Jessie Ware's new album. It has one shitty track cowritten with Ed Sheeran but other than that it is really really good. I thought her first album Devotion was one of the best releases of 2012, the second best R&B release after Frank Ocean's Channel Orange. Devotion is better as a uniformed piece but this one has better standout songs.
Sexy vocals, subtle production, and engaging melodies. The three song run from Sweetest Song, to Kind Of...Sometimes...Maybe, to I Want Your Feeling has to be one of the best runs on the year. All of them are stunning. Considering that Tough Love, Sweetest Song, and Cruel are also great song (Not good, great) you get one of the year's best albums.

Kevin Parker continues to kick ass. He should produce Noel one day. I can't believe I keep passing on opportunities to see Tame Impala. They played NYC last night and later tonight. This is like the 3-4 time i just didn't pull the trigger for whatever reason. Crazy. Speaking of crazy.....Lonerism came out 2 years ago. Where did the time to?

I'm not so sure how close we are to the next Tame Impala album. They have been constantly touring for 2 years. Very little down time. No real studio time yet.

Did he not say that he doesn't do the standard "go into a studio for a few months and bang out an album" thing? I vaguely remember reading that he records songs as they come to him.

Kevin definitely marches to the beat of his own drum and you are right but it's still wishful thinking we would get a new Tame Impala album in 12 months.

The boxset isn't absurdly priced, so I'll probably end up getting it and the greatest hits album. Thanks.

Just found the pop band Alvvays from Toronto, and I really like it. They released their debut album this year. Check them out!
Apart from the great songs here under, my favourites at the moment are Party Police and Atop A Cake.
They are on Spotify as well:

Their album is probably my most played this year. its just so damn enjoyable. There are more artistic and creative albums out there, but Alvvays is just really great. Saw them live a couple weeks ago and they were really good. They are supporting Real Estate and The Decemberists, so I hope they get a bigger fan base.

I don't know what it is cause they sound like most indie pop bands, but they have something I like that I can't put my finger on. Have been listening all day. Glad to hear that you've had the chance to see them live, they seems to be great. They are actually coming here to Sweden in february.
