It bothered me that Sitek spoke of catering to the artist and being a buffer between the artist and the "suits". He would have been doing the lads a favor if he'd said, "Mates, you need to go back to the pub and write some choruses." IMHO, the producer's job is to bring the BEST out of an artist and be honest with them--not to stroke their egos and teach them how to burn incense. The album would have been a commercial success if Mutt Lange had produced it, and it would have been a critical success if Rick Rubin had produced it. I'm Glad beady eye weren't too poppy and Dave sitek is not a commercial producer. Don't think he cared that muvh for chorus etc. A chorus in fotf would have felt forced I think.

Imagine if Sardy would have produced this.

Back After the Break and Off at the Next Exit were total showcases for Liam's voice.

It would be interesting to know the percentage of oasis fans (say those who bought Dbtt/Doys upon release) who actually hung around and gave beady eye a chance.
It's such a shame that beady eye passed so many people by when there were so many truly good songs. I'd be gutted if we have to wait another 5 years before we hear Liam sing again

I don't find myself listening to it that often, but I still think it's a good record,I'd give it a solid 6,5-7/10 I never got all the hype for FOTF tbh, even if I think it's a pretty good song, but I absolutely love Soon Come Tomorrow and Soul Love and I enjoy I'm Just Saying and Iz Rite, they always put a smile on my face, they're a lot of fun to listen to My only concern with this album and their music in general is that their songs often feel like they're missing something Andy was a great songwriter with Ride, and Nowhere is one of my favourite albums ever, but he's not that good when it comes to writing a great pop rock song,I mean,he's written some killer tunes during the past 15 years, but he's not consistent enough Gem's a great guitarist and a top bloke,he's got a great stage presence too,but he's average at best in terms of songwiriting Liam has probably the biggest potential of the three, but while Andy for example fullfilled it in his early years,he never did apart for the odd songs (Songbird,Soul Love,I'm Outta Time etc.) He's got a great ear for melody, but unlike his brother (and I'm only comparing them cause they BOTH have got this amazing gift when it comes to melodies) sometimes he fails to put things together and to build a proper song, take Start Anew for example,it's got a simple yet brilliant melody, but it's too repetitive and it gets boring after a while Said that as I've already written I still managed to enjoy the album and I'll give a chance to whatever they come up with
