Amazing album, destroyed by the poor, miserable choice of singles. Heard just one song on the radio here in Italy, "Shine a Light", and it has been even cut at some point before the end...

Better album than the boring HFB1. I don't care what snobby Oasis fans and critics say, this is a solid record.

Better album than the boring HFB1. I don't care what snobby Oasis fans and critics say, this is a solid record. I love them both. Really Soul Love is just great. It's a strange song, the feeling is strange, that's because of a great production from Dave Sitek. It sounds like something coming from the Moon. Don't know why, it makes me feel empty inside Last summer I played it to a couple of friends who are (mainly) into rap. One said: "Where do you find this pearls?"

They don't enjoy the record because they always have to compare it with Oasis and Noel. It's different ffs. Get over it!
*This is aimed to all the snobs

Also Face the Crowd used to help me a lot. I was in a difficult moment when BE came out, it's a very important record for me.
Time to face the people, take a gamble with your pride Time for living, so take today off, take your turn to hide It's out of my hands, out of my hands tonight Time to smash the mirror, turn the tempo upside down It's out of my hands, out of my hands tonight
The only one I don't enjoy is Don't Brother Me.

The year BE was released, was my last summer in university and I was songle, so this was a pretty wild and difficult time but Beady Eye msde an excellent Soundtrack for it.

I found it very good when it came out and my opinion hasn't changed, even if I don't listen to it very often to be honest. But it really is a solid album, miles and miles ahead of that stale DGSS.
Flick of the Finger, Soul Love, Soon Come Tomorrow, I'm Just Saying and Start Anew are the tracks I enjoy the most. They all deserved a lot more exposure, they're what Beady Eye was for me, and what should have been from the beginning.
I'm not a fan of Iz Rite (it sounds like something off Heathen Chemistry, and Liam's vocals aren't that good in it) and Ballroom Figured (a little unoriginal acoustic song, that's it). Strange, because both of them seem to be rated quite highly on here. I'd rather have some of the bonus tracks instead (Back After the Break is a gem).
Second Bite of the Apple bored me quite quickly, too... but other than that I have to say that BE is criminally underrated outside of this forum.

Soul Love doesn't get the praise it deserves. A truly great song backed by a truly great production.

Listened to it again recently. Still great (as I voted last year). The only songs I can't stand on there are Face The Crowd and Iz Rite (and Girls in Uniform if we're talking deluxe version).

I like that there is an areola on the cover.

I know it's a forum favourite but I really struggle with Soon Come Tomorrow. The melody is fine but I find the lyrics too cringeworthy to ignore. I love I'm Just Saying though...

Liam's voice is great on Ballroom Figured. BE isn't a bad album but Liam's voice just doesn't do it for me on it. Gem definitely should've sung songs on the album, particularly I'm Just Saying. His voice in Heavy Stereo was really good in my opinion.

Speaking of Gem, this album is definitely one where Gem stood out from the other two, but unfortunately prime examples of it were mired to B-sides (Off at the Next Exit and Back After the Break). Iz Rite's kind of a fun little pop-y tune, and Second Bite of the Apple has some fantastic instrumentation, when you take away those bleh & nonsensical lyrics. "Shake my tree, where's the apple for me? Tickle my feet with the NME/enemy..."Even though saying NME and enemy are the same thing for anything Oasis-related is like saying lemons and jalapenos are the same thing, I think you get it.

FOTF, Off at the Next Exit, Back After the Break,Iz Rite and Ballroom Figured are all really good. Soul Love is okay but the rest I can easily live without. Start Anew could have been good but suffers like The Morning Son did from too many "Naa Naaas Naas" and just repeating the verse over and over

I love Iz Rite and I'm Just Saying - both great summery pop tunes with brilliant hooks.
Soon Come Tomorrow is ace, I went from hating to really quite liking Second Bite of the Apple, Flick of the Finger is the best Gallagher-related song since 2000.
Off at the Next Exit and Back After the Break both deserved places on the album proper.
That's a pretty decent hit rate in my book. F*ck the haters.

I still listen to this album quite a lot. Or at least parts of it. Flick of the Finger, Soul Love, Second Bite of the Apple, IZ Rite, Back after the Break and Off at the Next Exit are legitimately great songs, and I'll keep returning to those. The only songs I dislike on the album are Face the Crowd and Soon Come Tomorrow
