What about Talk Tonight and Half The World Away? Talk Tonight is one of my least favourite Oasis songs As for HTWA, it’s a good song but I don’t go out of my way to listen To be fair, there’s probably other individual tracks I don’t mind. Just in general I tend to enjoy Oasis songs far less with Noel on vocals, and felt 3 tracks on an album by the end was just too much. It always felt it disrupted the flow of the album for me and made them feel a bit disjointed. Maybe because their voices were quite a contrast. I always felt it was the contrast that made me dislike it, because obviously the The Beatles had multiple vocalists, but because their music had so much harmony and unison vocals, it always blended and never sounded out of place even when the next song had a different lead vocalist . But with an Oasis album, I was getting two contrasting voices. One which I really like, and one which I don’t like much. I dunno, I’m sure many people like that. It just stopped me really getting lost in the album experience. Yeah agree, somewhat. The Noel sung Oasis ballady songs especially do nothing for me. Not keen on Going Nowhere, Talk Tonight and HTWA. While I love Falling Down, POTQ and Where Did It All Go Wrong.

As for confessions, Morning Glory is a great, energetic track, but I don't think it'd make my top 5 off the album, and I feel like it's the worst out of all those brilliant early rockers (Supersonic, Cigarettes And Alcohol, Rock N Roll Star, Bring It On Down, Some Might Say) For me it suffers from the repeat verse. Same with Listen Up, RNRS and CNS. All good songs which I like but for me wouldn't make my Top 10 cos the repeated verse makes the songs drag. Shame really that Noel got a bit lazy with them.

I think we're all feeling the same about the lyrics.
Some Might Say without the 2nd verse? OH NO!

SOTSOG alternate tracklists keep me sane 1. Fookin' In The Bushes 2. Go Let It Out 3. Who Feels Love? 4. Let's All Make Believe 5. Little James 6. Gas Panic! 7. Where Did It All Go Wrong 8. Full On 9. One Way Road 10. Roll It Over I like that. I'd have I Can See a Liar somewhere toward the beginning, and have Little James right after Who Feels Love?, but that's still solid. Also, I'll see you a SOTSOG alternate tracklist and raise you a DOYS alternate tracklist: 1. Bag it Up 2. The Turning 3. The Shock of the Lightning 4. Waiting for the Rapture 5. I'm Outta Time 6. Come on Outside 7. Falling Down 8. To Be Where There's Life (Richard Fearless-produced) 9. The Nature of Reality 10. Soldier On 11. Boy With the Blues

I think we're all feeling the same about the lyrics. Some Might Say without the 2nd verse? OH NO! I know right. It's actually a bit of a slog to listen to any of the repeated verse Oasis tunes. Noel alluded to it in the recent interviews and he said he couldn't be bothered or something lol.

- Never to this day heard Dig out your soul outside I'm outta time and Shock of the lightning.. no desire too - Noel's solo stuff is the most interesting stuff since the BHN days, dont care about Liam solo on bit (please dont start a fight) - Noel putting the great B sides from 94-96 on the respective album would have killed the Oasis legacy in my opinion - The Hindu Times got me into the band justfullofrandomshit would be a better user name for you Do you think it is possible to convey your opinion without insults?

But I like it too and find it much better than the album version.

Although I do like Whatever it's never been one of my favourite top 20 Oasis songs. I prefer the b.sides (It's Good) To Be Free and Half The World Away.

I swear I don't wanna start a Liam vs Noel fight, and this is purely based off personal perception as my objective take would be that they're equally as important to what Oasis were
I keep reading Liam was the essence of Oasis, he's the one that carries the Oasis spirit and so on and I just...don't feel like that He's a generational frontman and vocalist and I totally get why the first thing people would notice when seeing Oasis is how cool he is, and how much he naturally looks like a rockstar, and I see the charm in his no fucks given kind of attitude, but my whole fascination with that never went too far (voice aside, as at his peak Liam's in my top 3 favourite singers ever) Instead what I've always felt is that my attraction to the band was heavily tied to the basic elements of Noel songwriting and its overall feel: the melodic approach, but even more that melancholic but somehow optimistic vibe that runs throughout their discography (well, maybe not SOTSOG), that thing that makes you want to sing out loud in a field while pissed even though if you take the lyrics word for word what you're singing's not as downright happy as it feels to you, it's cathartic almost, it makes people come together and embrace life not in a cartoonish, "everything's amazing", utopistic way, but in a "as long as you feel something, even if things are a bit shit right now, you're gonna be alright" way, and it's what I find truly special about them
This is basically a useless rant, but sometimes I do feel like the odd man out (do you say that as women?) in my love of the band and just needed to write this shit down

One thing I remember now from oasis gigs is that I never minded when Liam left the stage to let Noel sing. It was still oasis. Yet I couldn’t imagine the same if Liam had stayed and Noel left. Not to undermine Liam, but your text made me realize that.

I've never really been a really big fan of Boy with The Blues. It's ok but I certainly don't think that it's one of Liam's best songs and that he's written better ones.

Liam Gallagher is the only real reason Oasis is my favorite band. There are so many great songs out there from dozens of bands. But Liam Gallagher created a dimension of image, impact and attitude and vocal sound in Oasis that drive me crazy!
