We all need to read your opinions, no matter how long they are! No need for that at all. Shame yet anothe thread has been derailed. Not the point. He is entitled to his opinion. I was saying that his opinion isn't the solo arbiter of morality. Making it immoral for Noel to do something like play with RHCP or Chris Martin. His response was directly to me saying that not everyone thinks "X", he responded with "I do", I responded that that didn't matter because he can't take is personal opinion and extrapolate it to everyone on the board meaning. Which he has been by saying that everyone who doesn't think Noel is selling his soul by playing a show with RHCP is selling their grandmother Probably could have phrased it better |

You have a very simplistic way of thinking. According to you : Noel does something morally discutable in my values standard = I think everyone here has no moral standard. No. I think the way Noel is marketed is sometimes morally discutable and doesn't fit Oasis image for the last 20 years. It's only my opinion. But I'm shocked that some forum members like you have no problem with any marketing decision around Noel, that they're so obsessed by Noel selling more and more records. Therefore since they haven't got problem with anything as long as it has the "marketing banner" where's the limit? Would you be happy to see Noel in Amarican Idol because it would help him sell more records? I would'nt be happy, I would be shocked. But once again instead of debating of something interesting like Tuperthonic's question of what's the limit that would turn you of Noel, you spent all your post debating about my tone or justify your opinion behind some order forum members. truefaith, live your life according to your principles and ideas, that's what noel makes too. it's embarrassing to be shocked when your favorite artist does something which isn't what you want him to be.
mark david chapman killed john lennon because he was a fanatic fan of john lennon but after john said something which wasn't after his mind he freaked out. nobody wants you to do something like that to noel.
just cool down and don't take it too serious

If Noel did appear on American Idol/ X-Factor or whatever, it'll boost his sale for a week or so and then everyone will forget about it...
What's so wrong with that? Joe Public won't think he's sold out, if he performs well he'll impress people who may never have heard his work and might (if the appearance coincided with a single/album release) chart well (most of you claim to not give a shit about charts but you do)
A week later the next guest performer does their thing and Noels will be all forgotten about, apart from a bunch of sour people on this forum.. Annoyed that their hero appeared on a show they don't like so there fore he's sold out.
What is the difference between appearing on American Idol & David Letterman?
