^Good idea, but a few songs too many. I'd settle for AOTR, Freaky Teeth, Revolution Song and (maybe) Record Machine along with the single. Keep the new songs for the album. bluemagpie we have heard that he's been reworking old songs, so why no new b-side to EOTR?

the album is really top heavy with the singles At least 5 songs are good enough to be singles Perhaps 4, Dream On is stretching it a tad

bluemagpie we have heard that he's been reworking old songs, so why no new b-side to EOTR? Just because I don't think he'll have had time to record any, and we have no indication he's been in the studio at all since he started touring (aside from checking up on the AA guys). I would guess he's been fiddling around with the old songs but hasn't recorded anything yet. And we know he hadn't prepared b-sides beyond the first three in advance because of SAHITS. So much as I'd like something new, and I really, really would, I don't think we'll be getting anything.

A 5th single doesn't bother me nearly as much as FANS who complain about it. Fucking hell, why not get more of a good thing, right? True, a 5th single does seem a bit pretentious at best, but seeing as the AA album is most likely shelved, why not. Noel most likely won't release another album for 2 or 3 years if the AA album is canned.
I'd rather have another single than nothing at all for a few years.

Lol - back to the Oasis way of having too many possible singles Good problem to have. Yeah, I think you could make a case for 7/10 songs on the album to be singles. It's very much a singles friendly album.

This is what he should release for the summer: 1. Everybody's On The Run 2. If There's A God 3. Revolution Song 4. Come On Outside 5. Freaky Teeth 6. Record Machine (The 10 minute version with multiple guitarsolos and a bagpipe) 7. Can't Afford The Bus Fare8. Don't Stop The Happening 9. Alone On The Rope This made me laugh.

Don't understand why the fact he hasn't been in the studio recently means we won't get a new bside? He recorded shitloads of songs for this album and its 'companion piece' and I'm sure there are plenty knocking around.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of the single have charted very well since WAL. Why would it change now wih EOTR and the album is in his late run?
But if it just a single for the US, I can understand this strategy better.

I'm naively hoping that we get an EP instead of a single, with EOTR on there as the 'A-side' track if you will, like what Arctic Monkeys did with Who the fuck are the Arctic Monkeys

I think this is going to be just a Video-promo and a single in one country of the world (Japan, US, Australia??) thing like Champagne supernova or Don´t Go Away.

But if it just a single for the US, I can understand this strategy better. I hate to say it but EOTR won't do anything in America. Americans aren't gonna go nuts over a 5 plus minute song with a spaghetti western style beginning. It would be a waste of time. Mischa Barton won't help anything either, it's not 2004 anymore. The world turned to Blake Lively.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry about the Billboard... it's crammed with sh*te in the top 10, but Noel can't even get in the top 100.

It has more than one solo and features a popular Scottish instrument.

I think this is going to be just a Video-promo and a single in one country of the world (Japan, US, Australia??) thing like Champagne supernova or Don´t Go Away. I agree! Theres no way they will release another single, not after the low sales of Dream On which is much more commercial. I agree that this will just be a promo video to get the last few sales out of the album and to go along with the summer festivals. I will be very suprised if we get another cd/vinyl with b-sides.

still, I would love to see Freaky Teeth released but we can only dream. He will save that for proper album promo if the AA album ever comes out.

I would say that the odds are pretty good. He's going to need singles for this album. He has to promote somehow. So he's going to need a couple of songs that are "straighter" than others.

But seriously, Oasis managed to do their entire carreer without any chicks in underwear, and Noel has already done that twice in 5 videos. It's ludicrous.

Possibly of more specialist appeal than Mischa Barton rocking flintstones pants, but there're definitely some chicks in underwear in this here Oasis video ;-) I won't comment until I've seen the actual video, but yeah, caveman undies wasn't what I had in mind for a EOTR vid
