Possibly of more specialist appeal than Mischa Barton rocking flintstones pants, but there're definitely some chicks in underwear in this here Oasis video ;-) It was sex and drog and rock n roll in this one, it was necessary like cigs and alcohol. It's not the same than a has been star in underwear or two californian girls in bikini.

Which if point of both videos is to market, then I don't see how the two videos are different. If you want to live in that dream world then okay, but clearly Oasis/Creation Records did use the rock n' roll lifestyle of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll with some scantily clad women included to sell an idea. It's naivete to think anything else. That's not a shot at Liam or Noel (they obviously truly did believe in the rock n' roll lifestyle), but when you're marketing a video and a band as a record company it's your job to take advantage of that image. In the end, down to its bare bones the selling points of having naked promiscuous women are still the same no matter what titles you wish to give them.

It's not the same to have a few groupies in underwear in C&A and to have a 45 years old rock star using Misha Barton in underwear in 2012. If you can't see it because for you everything related to Noel is godlike, great for you. I see a difference, it's more a rap video to me to use that than a rock video. And I think it's a little pathetic. Oasis used naked chicks ine one video about rock n roll lifstyle in 1994. Noel used that twice in 5 videos in his late 40's solo album. It's absolutely not the same context, and if Misha barton in leopard underwear is "good marketing" to you, I can't understand your taste obviously.

It's absolutely not the same context, and if Misha barton in leopard underwear is "good marketing" to you, I can't understand your taste obviously. Well is it good marketing actually. Marketing is evil, its main point is to sell. Once you get that in your head... Marketing is not about taste or even rock n roll. So having a "star" in the video, who is a girl and half naked is the basis for sucess and airplay (UNFORTUNATELY), but that's how it is: it's gonna attract viewers in youtube, maybe some airplay on tv because it's someone people are intrested in. It may even get the song to be played in teen tv shows. Like it or not, that's the only way to get a song to be played on tv or radio these days. It's hardly selling out really. What would be even better is to have lesbian naked chicks, but that's for next album i presume. DLBIA had thousands of pretty girls for god's sake, and it was a great video, let's wait for the video to judge if it's good or shite. but marketing wise, it's already a success.

if truefaith was a girl then it would make sense to criticize girls in underwear in videos these days. if not then it's weird

Well I have noticed clips of EOTR already being used in BBC & ITV Shows in the UK in the background & in adverts to add effect and build up to shitty shows like Masterchef & Got Talent. Ian Brown has (Allowed) this done with his songs like FEAR & Stellify ALOT in the past. I always point it out to my misses, when I hear either on telly. She doesn't notice as much which makes me think this is a genius move to unkowingly embed a song into someones psyche.
Based on this & having got over the fact it's not Freaky Teeth, I personally think EOTR will do well as a single, it is a massive song!

I'd like to love in a world where lead singers who were "disappointed" from not singing didn't overload their own albums or that there's a difference between marketing half naked women who are groupies and marketing just a half naked women.

I saw your post on the other thread saying it was Noels fault Beady Eye's album was so long and shite. Now youre saying using women in underwear in his videos is pathetic. Anything else youd like to add? I suppose its somebody elses fault too that Liam hasnt been able to sing in tune this century.

The odds on this video being good are astronomical. Oasis/Noel/Beady Eye have always done mostly shit videos.

But seriously, Oasis managed to do their entire carreer without any chicks in underwear, and Noel has already done that twice in 5 videos. It's ludicrous. what's the problem with women in underwear? He's a mainstream pop act doing what it takes to sell his work, why are you so surprised?

Nobody has seen the video yet but there's already plenty of people complaining. Let's wait... I'm sure it can't be worse than the Dream On vid

Just to take this thread off into another tangent, what the hell is all this 'keeper of' stuff that's sprung up recently??

I hope in Noel's next video he'll stand with a white fur coat and a gold teeth and some bikini chicks will dance around him. I had respect for Oasis for using entertaining guest in their video like Rhys Ifans. But really using has been misha in underwear is miles away of what I expected for EOTR video. But I've forgot that most of people here are willing to sell their grandma to see Noel sell a few more albums and have no morality over these things or what rock n roll spirit is. My bad.
