His best vocals on this album for sure, record machine is stunning to say the least, i think i speak for most people though when i say i'd have loved not to have heard record machine/if i had a gun/everybodys on the run/stop the clocks in demo/soundcheck form.

AKA...What a Life! is the album's high point. The Death of You and Me closely follows. I'm still yet to be fully persuaded by the over-the-top Everybody's on the Run - it wouldn't be out of place on Mika's last album.
People are going to hate me for this, but I'm not still not convinced Noel's voice can carry a whole album. It becomes tiresome by the first few bars of Record Machine, the fifth song in a row of full on heavy (double-tracked?) vocals from Noel. His voice is very strong, but it needs more versatility.

Haven't read anybody's comments and too early to review song by song for me, but on first listen (and hopefully it's not just the rip), the album is way too overproduced with choirs and strings all over the place that it actually can be irritating at times. feels like it needs to be stripped back substantially in places. Hate how he's shifted everything to his new favourite capo-3/4 key. fucking nightmare really.

Upon further review, this tops Be Here Now. Best behind Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe. 9/10 to 9.5/10

That just makes it worse obviously. But we differ in musical taste because i can't stand AKA WAL. I really can't stand that crap. And i really like EOTR. You say it would've fit in the last Mika album, but the same thing could be said about IIHAG and The Backstreet Boys lol. That doesn't stop the song from being a good one. Another thing is that the album is lacking punch, no song hits you in the face like say 4LW does. I read a lot of comments about DGSS having too many "mid tempo tunes" and that affecting the band's live performances. I wonder what they'll say about NOel's gigs.

This album has met and exceeded my expectations for it. I've waited an hoped for a NG solo for the past 15 odd years and I am now enjoying it immensely, hell, make me wanna quit work and drive cross country with a cooler full of beer and blasting it full on repeating it forever.

Yeah it was always going to be inevitable. Beady Eye's album was always going to have too many mid-tempo tunes, whilst Noel's album was always going to have too many slow-plodding unneccessarily epic tunes that try to fill the void left by the absense of Liam's voice - and best exemplified by Four Letter Word as you said. Neither album was ever going to be a masterpiece, as both Liam and Noel have their respective strengths and weaknessess that were always going to become clear when one separated from the other. For the time being, it is still an impressive effort from Noel.

I think it's amazing. I wasn't bored by Noel's voice at all. He pulled it off with aces.
I smiled through the whole first play.
I am glad that I got this album and I don't want it to be an Oasis album. I don't miss Liam at all. And I don't need any of the songs switched out for LAG songs. I love it for what it is. It's a Noel album...and I don't give a shit what genre everyone feels like slotting it in to.
There are a lot of interesting sounds. Excited to see how they sound live.
Also...holy shit BA is amazing! Listening for the 3rd time. I love the epicness of EOTR....but BA...I think THAT could be a single. It "make(s) me want to shiver"

I don't miss Liam's voice at all. Got a really large collection of his singing queued up in my iTunes waiting for me whenever I want to listen. I think these songs all fit Noel's voice and it was great to hear him for a whole album. BA was definitely a highlight for me as well. The three singles, DO, and BA are probably my overall favorites. I'm really happy I was so pleased with the whole album...there are no automatic skips on here like there are on almost every other record. Even MG has a couple for me.

I hate all of the "Liam" would make this better talk. Did anyone think, Noel would make a BDI tune better? It's ridiculous!
Fucking hell. Get off Liam's dick already.
That being said, I really enjoyed the first listen. Like most of you the standout tracks are far above what most of us were expecting, even for Noel. Brilliant. Well done.
