Wow. Best Oasis album since Be here now:) Maybe because it is overproduced or because all those melodies are all such fantastic... But this sounds once again like rock´n´roll... More in a way of a lifestyle than sound... I love the trumpet in Jesus Freaks, monumentality of Everybody´s on the run, ending of Stop the clocks weird but soo catchy Dream on... I just dont like Broken Arrow after first listen, reminds me of some Madonna song and I don´t really get the children in Record machine - it sounds like christmas carol! "monumentality of Everybody's on the run"..by that, do cha'meen that the song built itself a mental monument, and then by it doing so, you love it for that? If you don't mind me prying into your personal life, but are you attracted to arrogant jerks in general? ya know in your love life and that.

Album of the year. Should sweep the Grammys. Best Oasis-related record since BHN.

Album of the year. Should sweep the Grammys. Best Oasis-related record since BHN. The fuckin monumental flaw in your hyperbolic cock-sucking is that you think anybody gives a shit about the grammys.

I've gone through once, and I'm quite impressed. There's not a bad song on it, though I'm inclined to say Dream On or What A Life are my two least favorites right now. Everybody's On The Run is one of my favorite Noel tunes in the past decade. Record Machine and Stop the Clocks both exceed the DBTT versions, especially Stop the Clocks.
Good fucking work, Noel.

Sorry guys but EIOTR is just a B-side very well disguised with all that production. The album for me is 7/10 Im outta time and WIGWAM are imo, better than any song on this album, and Liam didn't need a choir.

Record machine HAS to be released as a christmas single. This is a fantastic idea and I'll be disappointed now if this doesn't happen.

If this isn't the album of the year (or, at the very least, a contender) I will eat my shoes....laces first.
EOTR? RM? STC? IIHAG? AKA...BA?
DO? TDOYAM?
Only a couple (WAL, SBAJF. SOTWB (I don't think I'll include this one as filler with repeated listens, but we'll see)) are filler material - after one listen of the latter 2, mind. And they aren't even bad! There's nothing like TNOR. There's not one track to be skipped because it's so bad (like TNOR, AGN, PYMWYMI, etc).
Impressive stuff by Noel. The Chief is back.

I was so shocked that alone on the rope was left off the album but now i understand why. i dont think it wouldve really fit with the album. even the emotional songs on high flying birds are really uplifting and hopeful where as alone on the rope is a little bit more of a downer even though i fucking lvoe it.

The only way this album could be better is with Liam's voice on EOTR, SOTWB, Dream On, and many others. But Dream On and the chorus for SOTWB are SO catchy. I'm very pleased with everything I'm hearing so far...Noel is even trying to sound like Liam on Dream On. Love his vocal inflections.

Funny thing...I thought IIHAG was the highlight on the album...weird as it is, the track's kinda downplayed on the album, it doesn't feel like a Wonderwall but more like a Live Forever kind of feeling...
Interestingly enough, all 3 songs are the third tracks on their respective albums!

Noel should win an award for Everybody's On The Run. Dream On was a bit of a letdown to me at first, but it's growing on me. If I Had A Gun... is still a good tune, but I think it's a bit overshadowed by other great songs on the album, which isn't really a bad thing... It's the same situation with Hey Now! being surrounded by greatness from Morning Glory, IMO. The Death of You And Me is a solid tune, but it's just not my kind of style. Record Machine is fantastic. I miss the original bass line from the demo, but other than that, it has improved in every possible way. What A Life! is definitely the 'Falling Down' of the album. Though not as good as Falling Down, it's still has a nice riff to get lost in. Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks really surprised me. It was my least favorite based on the preview clip, but now it's one of my favorites off the album. Broken Arrow is just plain fun. I really enjoyed my first listen of this. The Wrong Beach is interesting like WAL, but better IMO. It's really groovy, and I love Noel's vocals on this. Stop The Clocks is everything I hoped it would be. So beautiful and touching... You can really feel as if everything is rewinding back to the beginning in the outro. Love it, love it, love it! Great way to end a wonderful album. Agree 100%.
