What a Life is the high point? I....don't....understand..... I dunno, at the very least I kindof agree with deasy555 that it is as good as or even better than "Don't Look Back In Anger" what you're smoking.... i want some of it.

I hate all of the "Liam" would make this better talk. Did anyone think, Noel would make a BDI tune better? It's ridiculous! Fucking hell. Get off Liam's dick already. That being said, I really enjoyed the first listen. Like most of you the standout tracks are far above what most of us were expecting, even for Noel. Brilliant. Well done. of course, it was said over and over and over again when DGSS was released/leaked. The album could've been a lot better with some Noel songs, that is undeniable. Just as it is completely undeniable that Liam's voice is sorely missed in Noel's High Flying Birds. gosh, one thing they're just as good(or terrible rather) at, is coming up with names for a band.

I understand what he is saying but people have different tastes. His voice is superb on this album. Liam couldn't handle most of these songs nowadays anyway.

I'm listening to the music, not the brothers' opinions.

It's evident that Noel himself couldn't handle the songs either, hence all the auto-tune that can be heard throughout the album.

And I should clarify that there were a few years in the '90s where Liam was just breath-taking in pretty much every song he sang on. But that was a long time ago. I'm talking about now.

the songs are ok, they are not outstanding but EIOTR and SBJF, both are magnificent. If Liam lost his voice and some mojo, Noel lost his magic while writting classics anthems. Too much strings and choruses, it´s over produced and there is too much epicness, it sounds unnecesary for the whole album. I´m happy I got more songs and music to enjoy from Noel, I am dissapointed for the whole album.

Eh let's just agree to disagree. I happen to like 2011 Noel better than 2011 Liam vocally. From 1994-2000 I'd have taken Liam, but unfortunately his voice hasn't held up well for whatever reason. He's definitely improved with BDI, though...just not enough to beat out Noel's current voice in my mind.

Finally have listened to it a few times.
Everybody's On The Run is just amazing. It's quite interesting that of all the demo tracks/soundcheck recordings, EOTR was probably the one that most looked least forward too, yet it's the best song on the album. And it's also probably the best track that Noel has made since DGA. 10/10
Dream On almost goes over the edge of being annoying for me. It sounded "over done" on my first listen, but after a few more listens it has really grown on me. 8/10
IIHAG is still one of favorite Noel tracks in a long time. I've said enough about the greatness of this track in other threads, so there's no need in repeating it. 9.5/10
TDOYAM is definitely my favorite song on the whole album. It's obviously not the best, but it's the one that continues to put a smile on my face and give me the most enjoyment. 9/10
RM - I liked it it's present form much more than the former demo version of it. One critique I have of it is the fact that I really loved the bass from the demo version, and I wish it had been more prominent in the incarnation. I don't know, maybe when I get a better quality recording, I'll hear it more. Still an amazing track, nonetheless. 9.5/10
WAL - served the exact purpose I thought it was meant for. It's a nice change of pace song, and it works well with the in the context of the album. 8/10
Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks is probably the most disappointing track on the whole album. I love the lyrics, but the song just never went anywhere from me. It's grown on me after a few listens, but this definitely seems to be the weakest track on the album. 7/10
Broken Arrow - I absolutely adore this song. The bongo drums just make it for me, and Noel's voice is brilliant. 8.5/10
Stranded on The Wrong Beach is probably my favorite of the unheard tracks. It's just classic Noel pop. The chorus is just so infectious. It's hard not to get moving and dance to the track. Weirdly enough, a much more danceable track than the actual dance track of the album. 9/10
Stop The Clocks - fulfills redeemed itself. It truly is one of Noel best songs ever. I would definitely put it up there in the Top 5 tracks he's done since BHN. I love the A Day In The Life esque ending. Probably not the proper comparison, but it's the only one I can think of. 9.5/10
For me it's about a 9/10. Unlike the last few Oasis albums, I can definitely see myself pulling this out to listen to regularly. I very doubt it will gather dust in stack of CD's like a HC is right now. Which reminds me. I get the feeling that NHFB is really what Noel wanted HC to sound like. I feel like this album really is much better version of that album. imo

This, but it feels more like a replacement for Be Here Now. It has all the trademarks of a 90s Oasis release but none of the shortcomings except perhaps the indulgence.

I must say, the thing I thought would ruin my enjoyment of BA (drums) actually really add to the track.

Only listened once, so these are just instant first impressions: EOTR - Great song, somewhat buried with too much production. Might just be because I am used to the soundcheck and clean strings versions. Hopefully will learn to love it, at the moment seems to not have fulfilled its potential. 7.5/10 Dream On - Sounded decent, if nothing special. On a par with the best post-Masterplan Oasis B-Sides. 7/10 IIHAG - Great song, the chorus lyrics are Noel's best since Don't Go Away. Wish it was a bit more on the raw side like the soundcheck. Prob one that will be better live than on the record. 8/10 TDOYAM - Decent Noel song. It's fairly to a formula, and still sounds like TIOBI, but I've grown to like it and it stands happily alongside that song. 8/10 Record Machine - Very similar to the demo, just a bit polished. Not sure what the kids are all about, sounds like Heal The World. 7/10 What A Life - I like the sound in principle, but it just doesn't seem to go anywhere, and I will always think of that advert. 6/10 SBAJF - Ok, decent lyrics but no major standout melody on first listen for me. Beatles sound without the killer melody. If there's going to be a skipper down the line, this looks like it. 6.5/10 Broken Arrow - Love It! Really catchy, bouncy, happy tune. The standout tune of the first listen for me. Can't wait to learn the lyrics and sing along. 8.5/10 Wrong Beach - Something weird with Noel's voice. Is that a chosen effect or autotune? Another one that sounds like a latter day Oasis B-Side, extra half point for a catchy chorus. 7/10 STC - Didn't get it then, don't get it now despite the polished up version of the demo. Not a bad song, but not a particularly memorable one for me either. 7/10 Overall, it feels like a 7.5/10 album to me. It's solid, but nothing extraordinary just yet. I'm not buzzing and wanting to shout from the rooftop like I was after the first DGSS listen, but it's certainly a decent album I will enjoy listening to. Definitely a lot of effects, strings, brass etc thrown at it, and tbh I'm not sure if that helps or hinders some of these songs. Looking forward to the next listens
