Long trips to Russia & Turkey and Wolfsberg will be no easy match makes it a tough group. Can still see us coming out of itcomfortably enough as the other teams will takes points off each other.

Handful of points to make after yesterday's game: Fergie's decision to drop Berbatov could, and probably should have proven costly; Rooney was isolated for too much of yesterday's game, and against a shifty back four I feel a traditional front two could have inflicted a lot more damage.
Darren Fletcher has become absolutely essential to this United side; without him in midfield yesterday we'd have been completely overrun. We're just lucky Fabregas wasn't on the pitch.
Lastly, Valencia. Some would argue it's too early to judge him, but fuck me, he's got some work to do if he's going to get anywhere near the standards of the man he's 'replaced'. Cristiano Ronaldo he ain't.

Also, further credit to Ben Foster for keeping us in the game with another fucking outstanding save.

went through every emotion during that game last night!
Fletch was our best player yesterday imo, giggs was pretty poor giving the ball away far too much esp. in a captains role.
Agree that Berbatov should of been on from the start, espically in a home game need 2 up front. He and Nani should of settled it before the drama at the end.
Have to say Wenger was class when he got sent off! ;d

easy enough group. cska moscow and besiktas arn't top class but might surprise. wolfsburg on the other hand, are champions of germany and have some quality offensive players (dzeko, oba martins, grafite, misimovic), but that being said, apart from bayern munich german clubs tend to be shit in the CL.

Well, Man Utd did need luck to go their way on Saturday (unfortunately, it came in the form of another terrible bias referee), because Arsenal outplayed them easily.
I have no worries for Arsenal this season. If they can continue to play like that against big teams, they should be alright. I'm not saying they'll win the league, but the idea of them finishing out the top four is laughable.

Fantastic performance from United last night. We dominated the game from start to finish, even after conceding the early goal. Our passing was flawless, and I was impressed with our control in midfield given how sceptical I had been about Fergie's selection prior to kick off. Anderson was back to his usual self, Giggs and Scholes were assured and creative in possession, and in the course of one game Darren Fletcher has already proven himself to be a more effective right winger than Antonio Valencia.
The only black mark was the sending off. Quite simply a case of Scholesy's reputation preceding him, and a bad refereeing decision influenced by theatrics from Tom Huddlestone. No doubt any right to appeal will already have been waved away.
Oh, and yet another important world-class save from Ben Foster yesterday, to keep us in front at 2-1. I make that the third time he's done that this season already. Fucking class.

That performance was really really excellent. Probably our best all round performance since demolishing Le Arse In the CL semis last season

Class game today. Best derby I think I've seen in fifteen years, if not ever. Whatever excuses people make for the outcome, there can be few who'd deny that United deserved the three points on the balance of play.
What worries me is that we're looking frighteningly short on the wings. Ryan Giggs is the only one who poses a genuine threat at the minute, and unless Valencia and Nani improve I think Fergie's going to have to put his hands in his pockets come the January transfer window.
Terrible stuff from Rio Ferdinand today, and to a lesser extent Ben Foster. Foster should learn from his error and improve - such mistakes are, to some extent, necessary to the development of any goalkeeper, particularly an inexperienced one.
I'm pleased for Michael Owen. He did exactly what we needed of him.

That's Owen all over. He'll score a goal when you don't need it i.e. 3-0 up with the match done and dusted. Proved you wrong didn't he? Genius run and class finish. And FFS, will I need to point out Fletcher's performance after every single game of the season? Grow some stubble, start slapping some under performing players around the face, and soon no one will miss Keano.

2-2 against Sunderland. Man Utd will be kicking themselves for not winning.
Anyway, yet more bollocks spilling out of the mouth of Ferguson, claiming the ref was 'unfit' to referee the game, simply because he didn't add on more than 4 minutes. Erm, Sir Alex, whatever the amount of stoppages in games, it's very rare to see any team get more than 4 minutes. Hell, 4 minutes is the maximum in most games.
I don't care what anyone says, he's taking us all for a ride. Why the hell should Man Utd and Man Utd ONLY get the privelage of loads of minutes added on time. You drew 2-2, do something about it and stop blaming the poor ref simply because he didn't favour your side. A legend he is - but what a right deluded man he can be at times.

United were utter shite, didn't deserve to win.
Calling the ref "unfit" is pretty lame, but I think the goal was scored in added time, and thats why he thought some more time should've had been added.

Once again, I don't see any other team get 'added on time' in injury time for goal celebrations - why Man Utd and their fans think they're so priveleged confuses me.

I'm not saying we would have scored, i'm not saying we deserved to win the match just pointing out the rules.
