The best cure for depression: re-watching tonight's match. Fuck the drugs and seeing a doctor. Tell them Doctor Ferguson sent you. You'll be laughing in no time!
Champions? You're having a laff.

Whole team went AWOL, maybe apart from Evra and Rooney... Lovely, cannot wait for Le Arse at OT at the end of the month.. I've got a pretty bad feeling about that one.

If you lose to Arsenal and thus have 2 losses at the end of August? You're fucked. That's not to say you won't finish champions or in the top 2, but i'll be hard
For several seasons we have seen 3-5 losses being acceptable enough to win the league. If you have lost 2 already in the first month of the season, you'll need a miracle.
Now, Arsenal beating Utd is unlikely, mind. But in the off chance it happens? I'd hate to see SAF's face.....

United have'nt started the last 2 seasons much better than this one mind you.. Drawing 2 teams that would be relegated on the first day and all?
But losing to Arsenal would seriously see Arsenal taking an option on the title and United losing touch. And at the moment, there wouldn't be loads of people betting against Arsenal for that one
I just hope Fergie gets a proper world-class midfielder before the close of the window. We don't have a Gerrard, Lampard or Fabregas, which is really weighing us down..

Bit early to be writing us off. United are notoriously slow starters, and even if we have lost two games come the beginning of September, it's not inconceivable that we might only lose another two or three over the course of the next thirty. Which is precisely what happened last season. Besides, Liverpool showed last year that it's not necessarily about how many times you're defeated, but how many times you fail to win.

Whilst hilarious, this result shouldn't have anyone couting their chickens. United have started terribly in the past and gone on to win it comfortably. If they're there or there abouts by Christmas then they're a good bet for the title, they traditionally finish superbly.

Man City will not get close to winning the league, just wait until they play serious opposition.
As for United, 5-0. I hope all the plastic United supporters who wanted Fergie out show their faces.
Anyway, I came on here to praise Michael Owen. Brilliant goal, seems like I'm the only one who has faith in him on here so I'm really pleased for him.

That's Owen all over. He'll score a goal when you don't need it i.e. 3-0 up with the match done and dusted. It's against Liverpool, Arsenel or Chelsea that he'll fail to score against.

I don't really think Fergie got Owen for the big matches. There's no way he'll start ahead of Berbs and Rooney.

Much more encouraging performance from United against Wigan. We'll see how they cope with Arsenal on Saturday. It's important that we have Vidic back - Arsenal's forward line are difficult enough to handle without a makeshift back four.
Good to see our forwards getting on the scoresheet. Berbatov was particularly outstanding - his vision and skill is bewildering at times, and the intuitive manner with which he took his goal demonstrated precisely what sets him apart from most other footballers. He seems much more involved in his role as a Manchester United player, and the more he and Rooney play together the more destructive I can see them becoming.
Also relieved that Michael Owen's off the mark. His movement and finishing are clearly still up to scratch, but he needed that first goal for the sake of his confidence. Hopefully now he'll crack on and bag us a few when it really matters. Great to see the look on his face when he scored - he looks well up for the challenge.
Finally, credit to Ben Foster. He made two fantastic - and very important - saves on Saturday; the first at 0-0, the second at 1-0. The second, from Rodallega's header, was as good a save as you're likely to see all season. We're not missing Van Der Sar, and that's for damn sure.

Don't forget Nani, who possibly had his best ever game for us, and is (surprisingly) seemingly developing a brain! Jokes apart, class display from him

The difference maker between us and all the other teams this season will be Berbatov I think. He's getting involved more, tracking back and with Ronaldo gone, him and Rooney can get more goals with Owen pretty much scoring the same, or more than Tevez did last season. I predict between the 3 of them atleast 60, Rooney with 25, Berba with 20 and Owen with 15. Rooney and Berba will gel this season I think and become a very feared partnership up front. The aggression, the passion and the sheer power and speed of Rooney combined with the spectactular first touch, precision and dribbling skill of Berba will be too much to handle. Combine that with bags of pace from the wings thanks to Valencia and Nani and the soon to be new found confidence from Owen, plus Carrick and Anderson getting better and better, our attack will be just as strong as it was with Ronaldo and Tevez. This is Berba's year in my opinion and he will step up to the plate.

^ Agree with everything you said, apart from the part where you say Carrick and Anderson are getting better and better. At the moment, our best pair in Midfield is probably Fletch and Scholes, Carrick and Ando have been let-downs this season so far. And is it me or is Anderson getting fatter?! FFS he's being paid thousands per week to keep fit, how the hell does he end up that chubby?!

Carrick and Ando have been let-downs this season so far. If we include the Community Shield, they've only made a total of three appearances between them thus far. Hardly seems fair to judge them solely on the merits of the Burnley game - none of our players turned up for that one.

But still, I disagree with his point that they are getting better and better. Seems like the opposite to me

But still, I disagree with his point that they are getting better and better. Seems like the opposite to me I think perhaps Carrick has taken a back seat to Darren Fletcher, whilst Anderson is simply struggling to live up to his early potential. They're both excellent midfielders on their day, though, and I'm sure as the season gets into full swing we'll start to see a lot more from the pair of them.

Please don't compare Lucas to Anderson! Anderson HAS shown a lot of potential in his first season (the game against Liverpool where he completely shut Gerrard out of the match comes to mind), but its just that he's not living up to it since. On a good day, he's running around the whole pitch, applying pressure and throwing tackles in. On a bad day, he walks around the pitch and delivers crap passes. I'll give you something though, after that match against Villa, its obvious that Lucas can find the back of the net, as opposed to Anderson

I remember when one deluded idiot said to me he was better than Fabregas. A replacement for Scholes he is not - he does not merit any comparison with Scholes who has easily been one of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen. And Nani a replacment for Giggs? Don't get me started.

I remember when one deluded idiot said to me he was better than Fabregas. Listen carefully on Saturday and you'll hear about 20,000 of those same deluded idiots singing it from the Stretford End. Not that I'm suggesting they're correct, you understand. Like I've said, on his day he's an excellent midfielder, and he's marked players of Fabregas' and Gerrard's quality out of games on more than one occasion. He was brilliant in his first season; I'm not sure, however, that he takes his football seriously enough. Anyone who reads the fanzines will be able to tell you a handful of stories about his nocturnal activities, and from what I hear Fergie's recently had words regarding his commitment in training. One last thing I will say - you'll struggle to find many United fans who'll compare Anderson with Paul Scholes; similarly Nani with Giggs. Those two are amongst the greatest players ever to wear the shirt, and irreplaceable in a way that someone like Cristiano Ronaldo can only dream of.
