I love Episode 7, but I'm totally with you there. I mean, with all the hate Episode 1 gets, Duel of the Fates might be the single best piece of SW music - 7 had practically nothing memorable, bar the occasional reuse of the classics. Not to mention these two, which does more to convey the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker than anything George Lucas wrote from 1997 to 2004. I thought that about the music the first time I watched it, but I changed my mind the second time. It may not be as memorable, but it serves the film well. It's the trend that's going on recently with film, that the score isn't as distinctive by itself, but instead kinda is just meant to flow with the scenes and support them. It's not the loud bombastic score of the others, but I think it does the job...

So.... will anyone from next years new crop of player get in the hall... Manny, Vlad, Ivan, or Posada? Manny is one of the greatest right handed hitter who ever stepped onto the field. His multiple failed PED tests will certainly hurt him but who knows in 10-15 years. Piazza is in. Bagwell is close. Both long rumored steroid guys. Bonds and Clemens votes total keep rising. We shall see. Hell of a hitter regardless. Big moment player. Vlad to me is a slam dunk. Once a great defensive RF with an absolute cannon for an arm. Like Manny, a lethal hitter with the bat. Career .318 hitter or something like that. Extremely hard to do. He's in. Ivan is another classic steroid abuser named in reports and long rumored by beat writers. I think his entire career is product of steroids. He also won the 1999 AL MVP over Pedro which was a joke. Posada was a very very good catcher but to me falls way short of being a Hall of Famer. Never hit in the playoffs. Supposedly a not good guy behind closed doors and even quit on the Yankees in 2011 by refusing to play one night vs Boston because of a dispute with Joe Girardi. There's a difference between Bagwell being rumored, and Manny failing not one, but TWO tests. Also, Posada was fine in the playoffs, had big hits in the 01 series against the A's, against the Red Sox in 03, and in his final year was literally the only Yankee to get more than one hit. He was also a very good switch hitter. Where he falls short for me is not being a very good catcher(in pretty much all aspects) and not having more than 3 great years. He'll have to settle for having a plaque in Yankee Stadium and with his 20 being retired.

Griffey's postseason career:.290 AVG, 6 HR, 11 RBI, 12 R, 5 SB, 8 Walks in 18 games played.
Pretty stellar stuff. Also belted 5 homers in a series against your beloved Yankees in 1995. Another #Whiff for you Kalas. Easy to pitch around? He's a career .284 hitter with 630 HR, 1836 RBI, 1662 runs scored, .370 OBP, .538 SLG, .907 OPS. He was fucking amazing in all situations. That's your best ever And yea he was ways to pitch around. Guy did not even average 300 when it counted. Take all your other stats and shove them. Guy was a perennial loser , who hit in clutch in non clutch situations. But keep using stats to fool the kids Guy was a good center fielder Not the best By any stretch As for being "a perennial loser" you can't win in baseball if you don't have pitching depth. Neither the Mariners or the Reds at any point had any better than adequate pitching staffs. Not sure how any of that is Griffey's fault. He took FAR less money with the Reds so that they could still sign other players, and non of the signings ever worked out on a pitching level, other than maybe Bronson Arroyo, not exactly what you would call an ace.

You can't just discount statistics when they don't prove your point. Not sure how the playoffs aren't a real clutch situation. He was exactly the same player in all situations in his prime, which was Hall Of Fame level. That's all you can ask of a player. Even Jeter(my second favorite player of all time) is known to be super clutch, and even he wasn't really any better in the playoffs. He just was the same player and got A LOT more opportunities. Well that and the Flip. Clutch really isn't a thing.

He takes the cruiser down afterwards. There is the whole xwing battle in between so there is time. It bugged me that he got ahead of Rey and Finn in the forrest. I don't know if he had to climb down the ladder too there might have been another way out but I dont think he should be ahead of him. Problem is Kylo watched Starkiller fire from his Star Destroyer orbiting the ice planet. How did he then get to Maz's planet and in the forest so quickly. All those characters watched those planets blowup in real time together. Only minutes passed from that happening and Rey running into the woods. Where Kylo would soon be. Minor flaw but makes you wonder. Apparently, about 40 minutes got cut from the first "finished" draft. That probably happens in all movies, but i think that's why some of the timing doesn't seem right, or like things are missing.

Kent was an excellent hitter and a dicey fielder at 2B. He is a potential Hall of Famer because of that famous bat, both in the regular season and postseason. Even won a NL MVP in 1999. Good stuff. Hard to leave a guy out of the Hall with these CAREER numbers at 2B, .290 AVG, .356 OBP, .500 SLG and .855 OPS. Tremendous numbers. Chipper Jones won the NL MVP in 1999. Just sayin'. Jeff Kent won in 2000. Can't wait for Chipper to be elected in a few years. Will be only the second #1 overall pick elected(after Griffey)

For the record At his best. Griffey Not even in my top 5. Never produced in clutch. And was easy to pitch around. Just sayin Griffey's postseason career:.290 AVG, 6 HR, 11 RBI, 12 R, 5 SB, 8 Walks in 18 games played.

It's a shame the Mariners didn't have pitching depth, or he would have been in the post-season much more often. Those teams were stacked with Hall of Fame talent. Griffey, Martinez, Tino Martinez, A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Buhner. I wouldn't really want to pitch around him at the time. Also saw him hit a Grand Slam against Joel Zumaya to put his team up late against the Tigers in 05. Was pretty much the only solid hit the Reds had the entire day.

But also the BEST hitting catcher in the history of baseball and it's not even close. jeff kent is the all-time leader in home runs among 2nd basemen with a career .290 batting average. should he be in the hall? Actually via advanced metrics and by observations of both opposing and his managers, he wasn't that bad. In some areas, he was actually pretty above average. Sure, he was terrible at throwing out baserunners, but that's only one facet of catching. I think he definitely deserved to be in.

Great player Deserved 100 percent. As did Seaver. Yeah, I dunno what those three people were thinking. The only possible explanation I can think of is that they knew he'd be elected, and needed a spot on the ballot for someone else. If not, they have lost credibility with me definitely. Also glad to see it looks like Jeff Bagwell will eventually get in. He deserves it, being one of the best first basemen since WW2...

Good to see tom seavers record stainds. THE FRANCHISE STILL RULES. BEST PITCHER EVER , JUST NEVER HAD A TEAM. YET STILL WON OVER 100 more games than he lost. And he lost more 2-1 1-0. Than anyone. Why he's the best EVER AND YOU CAN BOOK IT. GRIFFEY WONT ECLIPSE SEAVER He did. Highest percentage ever. My favorite player ever, and without the suspicion of the steriod era! 99.3%! Great day for baseball!

Alan's drumming made WTSMG? Most of the songs would be substantially worse with Tony drumming, because it was a more mature, softer album. Tony could do the rock songs, but the more acoustic songs(Wonderwall, DLBIA, CNS, Champagne Supernova, She's Electric) worked so well with Alan's style...

In the crawl it says episode vll even though its missing on the posters. The original trilogy didn't originally have the Episode number in the titles so I'm guessing it's a homage to that, considering that The Force Awakens pretty much ignores the prequels completely. Only episode 4 didn't have a number, because it was just Star Wars. ESP always had the number 5 in the crawl, and so on.

I'd rate the films right now as this: Empire Strikes Back A New Hope The Force Awakens Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith The Phantom Menance Attack of the Clones Depending on the day, I might flip ESP and ANH, but otherwise this is how I feel as well.

The only thing that I wasn't that happy about was there really wasn't a new distinctive John Williams track for this movie. Obviously nitpicking because it was awesome to hear Leia's theme/Force theme, but even the prequels had some very distinctive music, and I think this was kind of lacking. Not saying it was bad or in any way lessened my experience (smiling the ENTIRE MOVIE), but just something that came to mind.

I was just about to suggest this. I enjoyed that movie so much. Guess Harrison Ford would only agree to one movie haha! Also, for like a bit there I actually thought they weren't gonna show Luke at all during the movie. Was very happy! Couldn't wait another couple years for that!

Zevon is or was a weird dude I heard he had terminal cancer so I don't know if he is alive. He is universally known for "werewolves of London " and that's all I know from him Little feat is jimmy pages all time fav band. And a band it seems all American souther rockers worship , I have no idea if they play bluegrass or country. But musicians love them Warren Zevon was awesome. Highly respected songwriter with a very somber sense of humor. The doctors told him he had little time to live, so he didn't have chemotherapy and instead made a classic last album. He was also known for being a really good friend of David Letterman, guest leading his band when Paul Shaffer wasn't there. It's kind of annoying he's only know by the general public for Werewolves, for me it's a little like Oasis with Wonderwall in the U.S. He definitely deserves to be in there, but I guess it doesn't matter for him now that he's gone.

It's not like he really needed the money. And he gave most of it to charity anyway. It's not like Disney would make that a take it or leave it proposition. The property is gonna make them SOOO much money. I think that this is one the the things that Lucas really cares about; that "his vision" is the only one available. He cared enough to try to give the Special Edition to the National Film Preservation, only to be rebuffed, and then not send anything. I hope it happens, I would buy it, but I just don't think it will... Lucas is a weird fucking guy. He made his reputation on the originally trilogy in their original presentation. When George has no checks and balances this happens.... - Howard The Duck - Willow (underrated) - The Prequels - Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull He definitely needs to not be surrounded by people afraid to challenge him. I've actually heard his ex-wife had a big part in salvaging the initial cuts of the original trilogy. However, he did advance filmmaking and film technology in particular a lot. We all owe him a large amount of gratitude, because much of what we see in films might not have happened if not for Star Wars/ILM/PIXAR/THX/First non-linear editing software/Digital Film. He may have become a worse director, but he was still incredibly influential.

I agree, I always thought Hayden Christensen did a pretty good job with what he was given. Was the he the best possible actor for the part? No, but he wasn't the disaster many make him out to be. Especially in Episode III, where he doesn't have to say stupid shit as much and can just look dark. As as for this film, I still fear it'll just end up being a generic blockbuster with not a lot of the mystical and unique feel that Star Wars (particularly the expanded universe) has to offer. I have no doubt it will be well made, thought out and entertaining - but I get the feeling there' be a lot of disappointed people come December 17th, with not many of them knowing exactly why. I have exactly the same expectations. I think JJ Abrams is a good director but not great. His films are very fast paced and thrilling but not much in the way of substance and I've never been left thinking about a movie of his 30 minutes after watching one (this is what great movies do - leave you thinking about it in a good way). That said, I can only hope any queries are offset by the fact Lawrence Kasdan wrote the script. Have you seen Super 8? Or the pilot of Lost?

I'm pretty sure the sale of Lucasfilm came with the stipulation that the originals would never be released. I can see Lucas doing that. The 20th Century Fox thing doesn't help matters. I don't think we will ever get the originals... So Lucas would turn down $4B over whether or not the original films could be released in the future? Seems short sighted by him. It's not like he really needed the money. And he gave most of it to charity anyway. It's not like Disney would make that a take it or leave it proposition. The property is gonna make them SOOO much money. I think that this is one the the things that Lucas really cares about; that "his vision" is the only one available.
