I'd go NGHFB all day DBTT was the only post BHN album I love with NGHFB its as good as DBTT and CY is better and nearly at morning glory's level not quite though.

Oasis. Neither brother can capture the magic fully without the other in my opinion. I love three of the four solo albums and really like Different Gear but they'll never be as good as Oasis in my eyes.

MkII: had the magic of Gem & Andy and better drummers overall. Albums are quite hit & miss but there are many classics on them. What really brings them down are Liam's declining voice, especially on DBTT and live.
NGHFB: has Russell Pritchard who's alright. Tim Smith's only redeeming feature is his backing vocals on Do the Damage, and let's not get started on Stacey's live drumming. Albums are generally solid, but it's not that loving Oasis feeling.
Post-BHN Oasis wins out for me, better live band despite Liam's voice and more great songs.

NGHFB. Chasing Yesterday is the best Gallagher's released since BHN. And I think NGHFB the album is better than any post BHN albums.

NGHFB.
SOTSOG was a missed opportunity, HC is..well you know. DBTT has 4 good songs and the rest is boring or shit and I really like DOYS. LAG shouldn't have gotten the right to write anything.
HFB1 and CY are both really good, so I'm sorry but I'll have to go for NGHFB in THIS case.

I really wanted to vote for NGHFB but the fact is Post BHN has just a few more treasures over 4 albums rather than the two NGHFB albums. As I have OCD of course I had to make a list.

SOTSOG may be hit and miss in a few places, but tracks like Gas Panic, Go Let It Out, Roll It Over and Where Did it All Go Wrong destroy anything post-Oasis related material from either Gallagher.
As for the thread topic...
SOTSOG > CY > HFB > DOYS > DBTT > HC

True Dat... But Gun to my head if I had to burn one of my collections of either NGHFB or Post BHN... I'd lose more if I chose to keep Noel. I have no doubt that after Noels 3rd Album cycle that He will tip the scales in his favour. After all CY is my 4th favourite Gallagher related LP even since DM. |

Not really a fair comparison. Of course Oasis post BHN has more good material, because that's four albums against HFB's two. But I see no pair of post BHN Oasis albums on the level of HFB and CY, so HFB it is.
Comparing the best two oasis records from that time to HFB, it would be
SOTSOG & DYOS vs NGHFB & CY
Both Oasis albums have great moments, but the solo albums are much more consistent in their quality.

There is no excusing the trash tracks that Post-BHN Oasis released. Sure... there are some gems, but the trash is what people always talk about most.
