The people who bought dynamically priced tickets were a relatively small proportion, no-one decided en masse. And they weren't given time to decide if they represented value to them. After spending hours in a queue, in an emotionally charged state, they were suddenly given a few minutes to decide if they should buy a ticket for twice the price they had been informed it would cost. Knowing that if they don't they won't get a ticket at all. It's complete manipulation and exploitation of people in a stressful situation where we know the rational part of the brain shuts down. As far as your brain is concerned in that moment it thinks if you don't buy that ticket a tiger is going to eat you. If they were announced as £350 fair enough, people can make a decision. I wouldn't have gone. Changing the price in an instant when people have no time to think about it when emotions are running this high, for something people have an emotional connection to, is horrible. It's exploiting psychology to fleece people who have been loyal to you for years. So much about this has already confirmed it really is just about the money. Not music. Not passion. I wish they'd at least tried to make it s bit less obvious. The fact they haven't, that so little effort has been put in because they know they don't need to to sell tickets, is very telling. This isn't really even Oasis, it's some people who were once in Oasis getting on stage and playing their songs. If it were a reunion we'd see more than Liam and Noel on posters and someone would have actually said something. This should then be a great lesson for people who may one day look to buy shares in a business. Or try to buy a home etc. Quotes. Starting prices. Unexpected bids from competitors. It’s the real world. I don't think your analogies are great tbh. If you buy shares in a business (private or public), transparency is key and lots of time and money go into guaranteeing it.For instance in private equity, you will very clearly establish the different class of stock in offer, the grants each class provides (e.g. voting rights or not), the price of each class (or if the price is auctioned in some way, as usually is, you will make the rules extremely clear in advance), Ticketmaster does not disclose how many tickets go into dynamic pricing. They do not disclose what types of tickets. They do not disclose ceiling prices or what criteria are used to decide prices. They even try to conceal what is going on by naming the tickets 'platinum', which suggests that this a separate class of seats or that these tickets provide additional benefits. If those are the types of "real-world markets" you use to buy a house or buy shares in a business, I would kindly advise you to think twice

Look, personally I'm just grateful my favourite band of all time is back together after 15 years! All the people who are going to see them next summer are very lucky indeed. I missed out on tickets this time around, but would be more than happy to catch them at a smaller venue (and to be honest, a lesser price) once the current hype has died down.
Now, if they were to release a new Oasis single, written by Noel & sung by Liam, with the 94-97 logo & cover art by Brian Cannon... now that would be a dream come true...

To relax atmosphere (or totally the opposite I don't know 😂) I retrieve this image in my photos. I knew that I had it somewhere. My Wembley 2009 tickets. Less than 40 pounds and to be in golden circle finally 😂

The tragedy: Oasis sold a million tickets yesterday (not to me, meh).
That’s literally ridiculous.
But it’s not the story.

Make a decision, then own the decision. Spilled milk…

But it’s not the story. it really is a shame as less than 1 week ago oasis didnt exist and now we got a 1.3 million ticket tour sold out basically instantly. Its literally a dream scenario and its been soured by them proably rinsing an extra million or so out of fans who already was gonna gross over 190 million for them yesterday

Did anyone really think we would get cheap tickets? That's delusional. This is probably the most talked-about reunion in modern music history. Everyone is trying to make as much money as possible — Noel & Liam, their management, the promoters, mainstream media, the hotels. Everyone. Fans are there to be milked for money. That's just how the business operates, unfortunately. And post-COVID it's become even worse. I dont think any one did think they'd be cheap. The actual price of the ticket is what it is. This tour ~150 they could have been ~500 if thats what they wanted to charge and that the money they want to make, that would be the price of entry. You pay and go see them or you say thats just too much money and move on. At least it open, honest and upfront and if inline with everything else you purchase in life its just that dynamic sting that wasnt mentioned anywhere hasn't happened for hardly any other gigs. Liam at knebworth 2 years ago I bought from ticketmaster they sold out instantly and I paid what was advertised. Noel at TCT this year the same As said earlier in thread the people in that queue for that long to be then faced not its not sold out but we just made up price which is over double the price is horrendous and anyone involved deserves all the back lash they get.100% agree. Pure greed and playing with people's emotions. "You either pay this extortionate, artificially inflated amount to see your favorite band or we'll sell the ticket to someone else who will".

It would be nice if either Liam or Noel publicly addressed this dynamic pricing shit, like Robert Smith did.
But I'm pretty sure they won't.

I wonder are there frantic meetings and phonecalls happening to day to come up with a plan to undo the backlash My guess - and it is only a guess - is that they were offered a financial guarantee for accepting terms which involved the acceptance of dynamic pricing. And it’s contractual. If they do find a way to address the issue, then I think they’re going above and beyond.

I wonder are there frantic meetings and phonecalls happening to day to come up with a plan to undo the backlash How big is the backlash. Are people over at Noels house with signs? And how long will it last. Two days? Three? I mean. They can just wait it out and not care about people raving on a message board, twitter or reddit and upvoting other people ravings

I was just saying that I assume there would have been discussions about whether they should address it in some way or just ignore it and wait for it to blow over.

I might be being a bit generous to Noel and Liam but I suspect they'd never really heard of dynamic pricing before a day ago, I don't think their recent tours have had the kind of demand so it wasn't on their radar. Their management are the ones that should be accountable. Hopefully the government do something about making touting illegal at least in the near future. Anyway hopefully they release a snippet of a video of the brothers together next week to change the story.

Majority of the backlash is directed at Ticketmaster.
As it is for every big gig. And by the time the gig rolls around it will have been long forgotten about.

A bit like when celebrities get done for tax avoidance and stuff, people still comment about it decades later.

Majority of the backlash is directed at Ticketmaster. True! Plenty of people are directly implicating the brothers though and believe me their reputations will suffer if a solution to this of some kind isn't found

Most of the people are complaining about Ticketmaster and their website. A smaller amount are complaining about dynamic pricing and a smaller amount again are complaining about the band. By the times the gigs happen it will be long forgotten about.

He's here to cash out. He knows all artists are upping the ticket prices. He won't care

I wonder how many people clicked on the £350 tickets thinking it was for a Special type of ticket, or even for 2 single normal tickets...
After waiting in frustration for a few hours, then the sudden excitement of finally getting in, but knowing time is short to get the payment done ..you get that screen pop up and your brain might be a bit dizzy.
Anyhow, it's terrible sham...

It's an unfortunate situation that months from now will be forgotten, because the collective memory of those terminally online refreshes every two weeks. Note: I'm not saying this situation in particular is irrelevant.
