Love SOTSOG, clearly a hungover record, darker and more introspective than past releases, also loved the new sound they brought in, the new instrumentation, the bass is more prominent, Noel's lyrics a bit more personal and the new influences on the songs like The Beta Band, Chemical Brothers and Pink Floyd.
The band lost two members, so there was more room for new ideas, funny how Noel need someone to push him out of his confort zone or he won't do it alone, Spike Stent did this on SOTSOG, Dave Sardy on DOYS and David Holmes on Who Built The Moon?

Noel cooked up a lot of cool and modern sonics throughout the record. Fucking In The Bushes Go Let It Out! Who Feels Love? Little James Gas Panic Roll It Over These all felt and sounded different than what was present on the first 3 LPs. I love the sounds on Little James and the cheese lyrics don’t bother me because we knew the subject matter going in. I agree with the list, but I just can't get over the lyrics of Little James. Sound wise it's decent, but not good enough in total for me.

Liam could have sung Full On for example, I don't understand why he didn't. I’d have love to have heard Liam sing Full On. I can only assume that either Liam didn’t like the song or they ran out of time in the studio, I know they did some work at Olympic Studios but they also had Wheeler End Studio by this point so the cost of studio time or bookings shouldn’t have been a problem. I guess he didn't like the song then or they had already decided on the tracklist and they didn't see as a priority.

This is my SOTSOG playlist
Go Let It Out (slightly sped up) Let’s All Make Believe Little James Gas Panic Roll It Over Where Did It All Go Wrong? Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is Who Feels Love (edited to shave about a minute off) Carry Us All Carnation (need another Liam-sung song and the sound and mood are a great fit) One Way Road

Arguably one of the best sessions the band ever recorded for radio 2000-1-20 Evening Session, BBC Radio 1, Maida Vale Studios, London RNRS, WFL, SMC, Talk Tonight and My Generation Produced by the band Engineered by Paul ‘Strangeboy’ Stacey and Simon Askew Protools engineer Jan ‘Stan’ Kybert assisted by David Treahearn Mixed by Mark ‘Spike’ Stent Keyboards Mike Rowe Additional backing vocals and backwards guitars on My Generation Paul ‘Strangeboy’ Stacey Simon Askew was the BBC Maida Vale session producer David Treahearn began his music career at Olympic Studios in London in January 2000, where he worked until 2007 as an assistant engineer to international Producer/Mixer Mark 'Spike' Stent. The cover of the The Who’s My Generation from this session was eventually released in 2002 as a b side on the Little by Little/She Is Love double A side single Noel and Gem had appeared on Lamacq Live, BBC Radio 1, a few days previously on 17th January and as part of a fan competition had to pick a cover to perform in the session they would record a few days later. The choices were: Robbie Williams - Angels, The Who - My Generation, Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the devil and Nirvana - Come as you are. No Beatles songs were allowed. Noel “picked at random” My Generation, which was lucky as the band had been rehearsing it all week! Full info here with photos taken by Simon Halfon. www.oasis-live.net/shows/2000/2000-01-20

I love Carry Us All. Should have made the album. And for being a lesser known Oasis bside, it still has half a million views. What a strong back catalogue. Mad fer it.
Everybody's gone for quick, sure fire solution But faith in any god will only bury us all No-one's gonna fight in a ten-bob revolution Have faith in what you've got and it will carry us all

SOTSOG era promo videos Go Let It Out Filmed in Surrey 3rd and 4th November 1999. Directed by Nick Egan It was supposed to be a one day shoot but rained so they came back the next day. There is a photo of the band looking cold and damp here www.nickegan.com/galleryWho Feels Love Filmed in Death Valley, California believed to be sometime between 8th and 10th December 1999 Director Nick Egan Band stayed in a hotel that had a dress code, no jeans! The Oasis Timeline Project on X (Twitter) had the recorded date as 10th January 2000. But I think they must have shot the video while they were in America for the December warm up shows. There seems to be a suitable gap in the schedule between 8th and 10th December and they were in California as well. On 5th they played at The Night 89x Stole Xmas, Cobo Arena, Detroit, MI, then between 6th and 7th Noel, Gem and Mike Rowe did some Radio promo in Canada. The band didn’t play again until the 11th at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, The Pond; Anaheim, CA Sunday Morning Call Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 2nd April 2000 Director Nick Egan The music video is a take on the Jack Nicholson film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, with characters resembling McMurphy and Nurse Ratched. It was filmed in an old mental institution in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and features Scottish actor James Cunningham. (From Wikipedia) More info in this MTV article www.mtv.com/news/o9um9u/oasis-shoots-new-video-kicks-off-tourThis was filmed a few days before the start of the US leg of the tour began on 5th April at Paramount Theater, Seattle, WA. oasisunited found this information MTV filmed a behind the scenes “Making the video” show for SMC Where Did It All Go Wrong ? Filmed in the UK according to the is MTV article www.mtv.com/news/o9um9u/oasis-shoots-new-video-kicks-off-tourDirector Nick Egan The song was released as a radio single in the US on 27th March 2000 so surely the video must have been shot before that.

It was 2000 Liam's voice I fell in love with. 2nd night Wembley, "Live forever", I think it was the 3rd "we're gonna live forevvaaaaah!" when it happened. Seriously!
I still prefer rough Liam to angelic Liam. I was at this gig too...bloody loved the vocals..Still watch it with goosebumps!!

They made a habit of recording videos in between tour dates, so this date range makes more sense. The video was not released until April 17, 2000, so both time frames work, though the dates closer to the gig in Anaheim makes more sense. There is a huge gap in their schedule in January and February 2000, but knowing how much they hate making videos, there's very little chance that they would have flown all the way out to CA just to film it. I am going to update the timeline to show this one as in debate until we can find something that references the actual filming date.

the SOTSOG era gave us this, theres really nothing more to say Well said.. here..here!! I remember it being played for the first time on Lamacq live show, BBC Radio 1, I was blown away! Faith was restored after all the negativity post BHN. Strange how it’s so well thought of yet Noel and the band have barely ever spoken about it. Andy Bell has mentioned it a few times but that’s it. Do they even realise how good it is?

They typically took Christmas time off in all previous tours but as you point out, so maybe they just blanked out the whole month of January and February knowing the rough due date to avoid having to cancel anything for Noel to fly back to the UK. It's a bit odd that they did those warm up shows in the US and then didn't play another gig until the end of February in Japan. They did record the Jools Holland special in the middle of February, so I suppose that they were at least still rehearsing for the upcoming tour at that point.

Here's the article directly on MTV's site: www.mtv.com/news/75pmjk/oasis-discusses-new-members-shoots-second-video. I think that about confirms that it was either right before or right after the gig in Anaheim. I'm guessing before, but as mahsteve said above, without the tour itinerary to confirm when they flew back to the UK, it's just a very educated guess based on past patterns of video shoots happening while on tour.

Does anyone know any more information about the where did it all go wrong video? Not see anything on the internet about it In the oasis you tube page it says the release date for the video was 29th February 2000, 2000 must have been a leap year. I think this date is wrong. The single was released on 27th March, seems a bit merely to release the video. I’m guessing it may have been filmed in the first few weeks of January. On 27th January Noel’s daughter Anais was born so it is likely he had two weeks off after that and then after this time there surely wouldn’t have been enough time to film it before its release at the end of February. This article says the band filmed the video in the UK redirect.viglink.com/?key=71fe2139a887ad501313cd8cce3053c5&subId=1258801&u=https%3A//www.mtv.com/news/o9um9u/oasis-shoots-new-video-kicks-off-tour
