Musically... if you're into Ian Brown's music, you'll know quite clearly that a high proportion of it is hip hop beats and grooves based, and having no band is a natural progression for his live set up. That's not the case. He's been performing these songs for many years with a full band who have been great. No natural progression. The only thing natural was the band set-up he used. Nice try. Haters will hate... Peace x

Dudes... I was there at Edinburgh on Tuesday evening and it was a top gig and an absolute rave of an atmosphere in the crowd. Bit too much of twitter pile on after the first gig, but that's the sad world we live in these days eh??? Musically... if you're into Ian Brown's music, you'll know quite clearly that a high proportion of it is hip hop beats and grooves based, and having no band is a natural progression for his live set up. Man said himself the other night he was inspired by Kanye Wests live set up at Glastonbury. The big story here for me here, is that it's the likes of twitter and its trolls and bots need shot down, not a man who wants to entertain those who want to see him. Peace and love x spot on, all of this.
glad you had a good night.
I just dont get how this forum seems to be more for ed sheeran fans than oasis fans. All seem to want some kind of 'theatrical show' put on by perfect technical bland performers. It's not about that, never has been. A great gig actually has much more in common with following a football team, highs and lows, travelling to away losses as well as winning the big nights. It's as much about community as it is anything else.
Most of the people who posted on this thread would be more at home going to a West End musical I reckon. I doubt any have been to a proper rave, or have much conception of what Ian Brown is trying or has ever tried to do.

I get what Ian is trying to do, I just don't think he can pull it off. But I say so based on some online videos, I bet it's different when you're actually there having fun.

The first night was a disappointment/shock. Now people know that it's just Ian Brown and no band, they'll have decided to make the most of it and have a few beers. Still, they are songs, not backbeats as other seem to think. It is out of tune karaoke. If he's singing to backing tracks he might as well use autotune on the vocals. I'm sure people would be more forgiving of this than charging £50 a ticket to perform karaoke.

Just because someone has been to a show doesn't mean their opinion speaks for everyone, is more credible, or is the truth. I don't need to have been to been to one of the shows to have a valid opinion.

I love Ian Brown solo stuff. Seen him a few times live and I've always said he is either Dreadful or amazing...nothing inbetween. I had debated going to see him in Edinburgh...Glad I didn't. Guy has chucked it

Guy has chucked it I am and was a big Ian Brown...but Jesus it looks embarrassing. His last album was stripped back and very non descript and his voice has got worse and worse over the years. Live tour wise this is the last nail in the coffin. Bloody shame

Ripples was a rather good album in my opinion, and the thousands who have been enjoying the gigs will keep that nail away from the coffin I think... Peace x

No it's not because you're not comparing like with like. I've seen enough of Ian Brown over the years. Like most on here I like the Stone Roses and his solo stuff. He is a terrible singer live - no getting away from that. If you want to pay £50 to hear him sing karaoke then fine. Just don't tell me I have to go as well in order to have a valid opinion about it.

like the other guy said, haters gonna hate... let it go...

I love Oasis, firstly for the music, and their interviews often made me laugh, but they talked a lot of shit too. We all know how inspired Liam was by Ian Brown when he was a teenager. Of course he's going to hold him in high regard. But King? Liam talks shit too by his own admission. I don't hate anyone. Someone else's words - not mine.

Liam might 'talk shit' but he doesn't spout batshit conspiracy theorist nonsense.
You can take the worst things Liam says with a pinch of salt, but you have to be next level dangerously stupid to believe the diarrhoea that spews from Ian Brown's mouth.
The guy is a fud. End of. The guy's gone doolally, and its time for him to crawl into some musicians retirement home and be forgotten about for good.

Maybe I've missed some stuff he's said or written that you've read or heard that might change my opinion of the man?
Unlike many here, I am pragmatic enough to actually listen and change my mind, so if you get the time it would be great to know what particular diarrhoea you are talking about?
