10 years ago we had gotten these teasers and tomorrow we will have heard Bring The Light for the first time, what are some Beady Eye memories you have or thoughts after all this time?

Baffling that they showed Sons of the stage as a teaser and then hit with Bring the Light. Four letrer Word shouldve been what the people heard first from BDI. Most people didnt gave them a shot after hearing Bring The Light. The first tour was amazing tho.
Lol the URL of the pic says Oasis

Lol the URL of the pic says Oasis That riff made the teaser so amazing and set everyones expectations high for some proper rock n roll Liam. It was 2 in the morning for me when I listened to Bring The Light I was hit by a curveball, I was baffled myself. It took me a few minutes to find that first image they shared, I bought myself one of those jackets Liams wearing, love it in the summer.

Great memories. The first tour was incredible, I remember going to see them three times in 2011. Ah, youth ... where have you gone?

Granted itβs 4/5 of Oasis so that was always gonna be the case especially with Liam in the band. I ainβt too proud to admit I didnβt know The World of Twist or Sons of the Stage. When I heard that 15 second teaser clip or whatever it was I was pumped. Thought that was their song. Good shit. They definitely released BTL first to be a curveball. Try and show they could be different and shake it up. I still firmly believe FLW should have been the first thing we ever heard from the band. Set the tone early that could rock n roll. That song has swagger. They needed to start with as much positive press and fan reaction as possible. I saw Beady Eye 3 times in 2011. They kicked major ass at Letterman and later Webster Hall.

I saw them live 3 times and wouldn't ever have wanted my money back. They gave it a good go but the songs weren't there and the first album is nowhere near good enough to break through some of the worst production imaginable. I think a big part of the issue was that they wanted lots of rockers and that meant using the shit songs. They could have put out 2 albums of 10 tracks each that left out the shit rockers and been reasonably proud of their work. Commercially I don't think it was ever going to happen.

Wow 10 years ago already since Beady Eye first put out their teasers and then the song Bring The Light. I wasn't aware of the song Sons Of The Stage until Beady Eye covered it. As for Bring The Light I didn't mind it when I first heard it but I was quite surprised that this song was their first single. I haven't listened to it for a while but I think that after Liam's solo stuff so far Bring The Light is nowhere near as good.

I was at their 1st ever gig at The Barrowlands. Nobody knew any of the songs! DGSS is a great album. I went on to see them live 3 more times and as it turned out went to there last ever uk gig at Hammersmith too. I met Paul Gallagher and Andy Bell at the after gig.Yep I was on the Beady Eye train from the start! So much has changed for me since then but they certainly marked a moment in time.

Many of theirs songs would have been fine as non-singles on latter Oasis albums (mostly Liam's songs) but to be successful, they'd have had to be a completely different band from Oasis.
There's no way on earth they could get away with the Oasis sound without Noel, it doesn't matter what you think of the music, it is bad PR and people immediately write you off without the main man. Liam's solo career can get away with it but as a solo act, you carry the Gallagher name and brand, but more importantly, Liam's solo songs are of far superior quality to Beady Eye. A band doesn't have quite that authority that Liam's solo career does.
To be successful, they would have had to carve out their own sound and identity, like New Order did after Joy Division. Or heck, even Jefferson Starship after Jefferson Airplane. Gem's ability to write decent songs and offer reinvention is obviously out of the question, so it's rather disappointing with Andy Bell's versatility that he himself constrained himself in the Noel songwriting straitjacket.

I found it all very exciting initially. Glad they carried on so soon, Bring the Light i wasnt keen on, just sounded like 'great balls of fire' but i got to like it much more and it was great at gigs. The 15 second teasers of all the songs was great, couldnt wait to get the album.
Now to me the songs are 'weak' songs but i still enjoy many of them, both album openers are superb. But yeah theres a bit of filler.
Again the hype for album 2 was great, hearing Flick of the Finger on that US college radio was great for the first time. Really liked BE, met Liam in Accrington where he was doing a video, top bloke. What i did find depressing were the low number of people going to gigs. Liam was on top form, i can see why they said they wouldnt do Oasis songs but in the end they did and that first time i heard rock n roll star at Warrington Parr was an amazing moment.
Last time i saw Beady Eye was in Manchester, small crowd sadly, great to hear that Rolling Stones cover to end the set but sad to see how small crowds were.
I think of Beady Eye as doing 'okay' b-sides. Couple of decent tunes....
Four letter word - Great song and love the video of them doing this in the studio Iz Rite - Think its a great tune Flick of the Finger - Was great played live, blast it out when it comes on in the car Start anew - Think a very underrated tune, love that live version on french radio Evil Eye - Totally undiscovered gem lots of mainstream people will never hear, would have been a good Oasis b side Soul Love - Think this is very good, liked the version he did during his initial solo tour Off at the next exit - Could have been used at the end of a Bond film In the bubble with a bullet - Another good b side, should have been on an album World outside my room - Again a very nice b side Worlds not set in stone - Again another rare track, obviously very very 60's sounding but really liked this and saw them play this live at Warrington Parr for the first time
During the non-Oasis years i really did like Beady Eye, saw them about 6 or 7 times and every gig was great. Specially the openers, the crowds were great at the start
Sorry for the long post. Shame when you see people slate Beady Eye, they did have some bad luck with Gem's injury and the poor promotional work by their management. I play Oasis/Liam songs so much i do like to listen to a fair bit of Beady Eye from time to time. Did some nice tunes, good memories hearing Millionaire etc

Beady Eye made some good songs. They weren't a bad band but they were never going to be as big as what Oasis were. But songs like Flick Of The Finger, Soul Love, It's Rite, I'm Just Saying, Shine A Light, Start Anew, World Not Set In Stone, Back After The Break, Off At The Exit, Four Letter Word, Millionaire, Wigwam, The Morning Son, World Outside My Room and In The Bubble With A Bullet are all good songs.

Shame it never worked out for the band but the whole solo idea makes so much more sense from a commercial perspective. Flick of the Finger is decent and The Roller ain't bad either (even if it is a rip) but I can leave the rest. Lots of good ideas, lots of bad ideas, lots of half songs.

All Beady Eye did was delay what I wanted in late August 2009, a Liam Gallagher solo career. All the power to the Beady Eye heads. Like what you like.

Beady Eye in Munich 2013 (7 years ago!) was my first abroad concert trip, because someone here said, as an Oasis fan you just have to see at least Liam on a stage once. Seriously, that got me thinking, why actually not, just do it! So, whoever you are, thank you from the bottom of my heart, because it was a great concert and a wonderful experience, I loved that band, before and afterwards even more. Also, it broke the ice for me, was just the first of by now a few concert trips. And, oh yes, seeing Liam on a stage the first time, it all made sense then!
Also, as 2013 was when I fell for Oasis, BE was the first album I followed Minutiously from the announcement, to every little shred we got beforehand and it was so much fun.

I never understood why people didn't like Beady Eye. They had great songs. That Abbey Road acoustic gig from 2013 was amazing - I still listen to it regularly.

I've always enjoyed their music even though I don't listen to them much now. And, it's a shame how things turned out for them.

I was just listening to "Iz Rite" from the Abbey Road gig on my stereo - what an amazing song! Unfortunately I never saw them live but his voice in this acoustic promo gigs from 2013 sounded pretty good to me - way better than at the end of Oasis.
