Done a cover of one of my favourite tunes by them if anyone is interested. Had another listen properly on the speaker just now while I’m on the beach. Sandy bits and a stunning cover - life is good 🙂 (mates and the people next to us enjoyed it too) bt95 any news about October? I don’t follow all the announcements, so often miss stuff. Can’t see any gigs happening for anyone til Spring tbh. Nothing as of yet. The lads were asked about it a week or two ago on a Zoom chat thing, said they were still hoping to play but just depends. They'll probs give it as long as possible but yeah I reckon a Feb/March indoor tour and then the big outdoor gigs next year look smuch more likely. Conversely, they've been playing intimate shows in Sydney over the last few nights - they're doing 2 a day, and I think 18 or 24 in total. The clips I've seen look brilliant. Opening with Cobracaine just with Mason on piano, then the violin comes in, then the drums, then Johnny on guitar and finally Tommy walks on stage, segwaying it into Time & Money. So at least they're getting some gigs in.

Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed it, them bloody sandy bits eh ..... 😬 Nice piece of writing, enjoyed reading it so thank you. I’d never find these things. Shame about the part “the greatest Oasis songs not written by a Gallagher.” Maybe it’s just me but I don’t get anything Oasis from them at all and the comparison escapes me. It’s apples and oranges. They’re unique and on a totally separate plane. As far as these stripped back shows go, I’d take one over a fully loaded gig. There’s something untouchable about them, they’re not just noise for the ears but induce a feeling. I’m currently a little obsessed with the acoustic version of Time and Money from Unplugged and Criminals with strings from Carriageworks.

Agree on the Oasis bit, even though I get what the writer is trying to get at. Re. the gigs, it's just brilliant they can do both sides. They're really talented musicians and in an environment of an acoustic set they get to show that, plus Tommy's voice obviously stands out even more. It lets everything breathe, and the melodies are all lifted by it because they're front and centre. But on the other side, they are brilliant as a full band too. It's obviously a different atmopshere and vibe. It's just great that they can do both so well.

Forgot to say but when I was figuring out the chords to Criminals a few weeks back I realised that the verse is exactly the same progression as Up&Up by Coldplay.
No real surprise like and it's obviously a very common progression but that song to me feels more Coldplay than anything else (I know it's been compared to a Busted tune etc) – maybe that's why.

Meant to say the other day.
They've had to push their tour back to April.
They've added in a date at the Liverpool Arena - unfortunately I can't go as it's the day before Ally Pally and I can't afford both (if of course they go ahead).
Their first arena gig and for an indie guitar band from the other side of the world to do that by album three is great.
Still listening to the new album a lot. Love it.
I believe the arena gig is almost sold out, too.

Live at Brixton Academy album being released at the start of March! Great news, watched the live YouTube stream of the gig several months ago and can’t wait to listen to it in full again.
Have read through most of the thread and agree with the general sentiment that they are the real deal. Finally got to see them early this year in a small capacity venue at ULU the night before the Brixton gig and they were electric live, after missing them at Finsbury (wasn’t too aware of them at this point/was queuing at the bar) and on the WMWN tour (the night I went to had Miles Kane as the support act).
Also got tickets for the Ally Pally gig, very much looking forward to this when it’s able to go ahead! They really seem to have a connection with their UK fans.

Saw them last night at Ally Pally, what a gig - a great live band, and as the post above says they don’t have any bad songs. Also - Ally Pally is an incredible venue for a gig!

Yeah I went Ally Pally too. Just brilliant. First gig back after COVID, and the last gig I went to was DMA's at Brixton.
Ally Pally is an amazing venue and just right for them. I'll admit, I had tiny, tiny doubts about the size and their sound but as soon as the first chord of Never Before was played, they went out of the window. And the scenes from Liverpool Arena yesterday looked amazing.
A damn shame Castlefield Bowl and Millenium Square had to be moved to smaller indoor venues but such is life. As it turns out, I had tickets for both so am seeing them again on Tuesday and then a week on Thursday - that'll take me to 11 times, I believe.
Really noticed the amount of first-timers at the Ally Pally gig, too. These lads deserve all the success, they're fucking brilliant.

Saw them for the last time on this tour last night, in Leeds.
Shame that the gigs had to all be condensed together, and Castlefield Bowl and Millenium Square moved to indoor, smaller venues over multiple nights, but the lads still smashed it. They are just an incredibly tight band, who are fantastic at what they do.
Hopefully next year is bigger, one-off gigs in the mould that was initially planned for The Glow tour. They proved at Ally Pally, Liverpool Arena, Brixton etc that they're more than big enough and good enough.

New song out today. I enjoy their dance direction, Life Is a Game of Changing is definitely a tune, but I think this new one sounds repetitive and with a lack of creativity.
