He's a liar and a class traitor. He was once my hero. This is why you shouldn’t put your life in the hands of a rock ‘n’ roll band... X

I can´t understand why a "51 years old man" who is a genius just with his guitar&his voice would need to experiment with another kind of music. Well, yes, you could experiment for yourself, for personal enjoyment, BUT you should know your limitations. And, for me, Noel is mediocre at best when he tries to evolve his compositions. There are loads of groups who create experimental music that i´d listen to before the WBTM record and his futures releases if he continues with his obsessed idea of being cool, modern and an "artist". Noel, you´re a fucking artist right now and ten years ago too. You´ve written loads of anthemic and timeless songs. But, you´re now surrounded by a great amount of ass-kissers who just praise everything you do. Just remember that if you´re a fucking millionaire right now is ONLY because that man with his guitar who wrote incredible songs like "Don´t look back in anger" or "champagne supernova", and for the Oasis fans who adore you&your brother For me, and this is the worst thing, you´ve became in an unbearable prick these days. Actually, that's quite the opposite of Noel and David Holmes'relationship.

The response to Noel experimenting is partly why I don't come on this forum anymore. Noel isn't writing DLBIA, Champagne Supernova, or Wonderwall again. It's not happening. He can write pale imitations, which is what he was doing before, or he can take a risk and change it up. I prefer him changing it up.
If Noel hadn't released WBTM and had done another NGHFBS, I'd be done.
I was fine with the style of NGHFBs because it was his first post-Oasis album. He was pushing out the old songs to make way for the new. Was it ground breaking? No. But it was a solid first effort, part of what made Oasis and Noel great and part of the ills that made it right for them to break up. CY was a mish-mash of where Noel was and where he was bound to go. But to me, some of the weakest songs on CY and NGHFBs arrive when Noel is just the guy with the guitar--still trying to find that magic that he lost a long time ago. The best moments on those albums happen when he's pushing himself. They don't happen on IIHAG, which even if it were stripped down, is a shell of his former compositions.
I'm tired of hearing diminishing returns on the same formula a la The Rolling Stones. Noel needs to push himself or I'd rather he'd retire because seeing a guy hanging on to his former glory by writing the same songs over and over again is far more pathetic than a guy trying something different and possibly failing.

Well, to me, a song like Dead In The Water isn't a pale imitation at all, but a great song on its own. Question I ask myself, had that song been released around the time of Don't Look Back In Anger, would we see it as a classic on its own? I think so. A lot has to do with the time it came out, if it's been a hit with the wide public or not. I don't mind him trying new stuff, a song like Ballad Of The Mighty I is among the best stuff he's done in my opinion. But a lot of songs on the last album are just too mediocre...

Dead In the Water's a decent bong but DLBIA and Wonderwall are bongs that transcend time and genre...just absolute classics, those will be played on the radio long after we're gone. I was 18 when DLBIA came out...I remember clear as day being fucking stoned out of mind and hearing the (WTS)MG? album for the first time and saying, 'I wanna hear that song Wonderwall with the guy who looks like Rob Lowe...', and my cousin, who had the album said, 'That's not even best bong on the album....' Thanks.

I largely agree with this, I don't why people wouldn't get behind Noel attempting to take them somewhere different. I don't think WBTM works really but at least he was broadening his horizons and trying to change it up a bit. I'd rather see him fail in search of something different than ever release a song like The Dying Of The Light again. All you want is a musician making music for themselves. I have no problem with Noel going back to rock n roll or acoustic based music but only when he wants too and there is nothing to say that he couldn't approach that genre differently in the future. Weller has made a pretty good fist of this, changing things and then dipping back in to a place he's been already.

I love how your posts about Noél have a back-handed compliment or slight dig.....WBTM isn't that great, though....I love 'If Love is the Bong', though...great bong, one of my favorites of last couple years. How do you treat people in real life that you don't like, that actually have an impact on your life? I'm not judging, for instance, I hate my brother-in-law, and I'm not a huge fan of my sister....I tell them that, too, because I'm not a fucking pussy who just runs their mouth on the intemet. Thanks.

Such a great movie. I once watched it for about the fifth time, in a theater, on a random weekday night with no one else in the theatre besides myself and my cousin, whilst drinking beers and smoking cigarettes.... Thanks.

Noels version of how Beady Eye fell apart. That's not really how it went right. They split in 2014 where Liam got his deal in 2016 if I remmember correctly. "do you new stuff". Liam plays plenty of new songs along with the Oasis ones... MOJO: So there wasn't a pang of envy when Liam did Finsbury Park? Or was it "good luck to him"? Good luck to him definitely. (Pause) Listen I know the true story of Beady Eye and how it fell apart. He left the band by text! The Prince of Darkness, The Man, he didn't even have the balls to phone his bandmates. Because he got a solo deal, it was, See you later, lads. Then when he got his deal with Live Nation, no one was telling him, "Don't do any Oasis songs, do your new stuff, that's what your good at." He got his thing now - which is effectively my thing - and when he's headlining Finsbury Park I'm sat there watching Match Of The Day getting a PRS cheque for him playing my songs. But instead of making him happy, it's made him worse. It's made him even angrier (laughs). Of course, I love NG dearly but it`s hard to believe his version, I don`t think Liam would quit his band just because he wanted to go solo, he started recording his solo LP 2 years after BE split, so it`s not a coincidence.
