Well, he's three for three so far. Can't wait to hear what he cooked up with Nas. GOOD summer going strong

Kanye certainly not my normal jam. Ghost Town is a pretty affecting tune though. Been giving that one some spins. Nice.

I think Kids See Ghosts is better in objective terms but I relate to a lot of Ye so much that to me it's the better album. I love the refreshingly simple ideas on it as well, compared to the grandeur of his last three albums. Daytona was amazing as well and I can't wait to hear what he's made with Nas.

Nasir is better than ye, not as good as kids see ghosts. Cops shot the kid and Adam and Eve are great, but overall a bit underwhelming on first impression

On an unrelated note, I cannot get over how just next-level this song is.

I can't name or identify one Kanyé bong....I'd be curious to hear one of his bongs; I just know he's an idiot and I'd like to fuck his wife.
Thanks.

Kanye’s rapping is the worst part of all his albums after Late Registration. And his production became stale and boring to me after My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. His lyrics on nearly all of Yeezus are embarrassing. The Life of Pablo is a meandering mess. ye has the cheapest sounding beats yet. I can’t in good conscious say he is in any way the greatest artist of the century, but that’s just my opinion.

If you think the production on Yeezus, Watch the Throne, and The Life of Pablo is stale then I can't really argue with you 'cos we're just too far apart - I'd say that's when his producation kicked up a gear from "the best in hip-hop" to "the best of all time". I mean, listen to these songs:
- HAM - Murder to Excellence - No Church in the Wild - Otis - Black Skinhead - New Slaves - HOLD MY LIQUOR - BLOOD ON THE LEAVES - I'm in it - Guilt Trip - Bound 2 - Ultralight Beam - Famous - Waves - FML - Real Friends - No More Parties in LA - Wolves - Only One - All Day - Saint Pablo - Yikes - I Thought About Killing You - Ghost Town - Violent Crimes - The absolute entirety of Kids See Ghosts I mean, which of these has bland production to you? I can't think of anyone else on earth who's producing anything near this standard. Also I'd consider MBDTF/Watch the Throne to be Kanye's rapping peak, he was delivering everything right then, with great flow and wordplay. I agree Yeezus was a big step down lyrically in that it DID have some clunky lines but I still think it works in portraying the "Yeezus" character addicted to ego, sex, and power, but being torn apart by loneliness and the need for love. I think the tracks On Sight, Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Hold My Liquor, and Blood on the Leaves all have great lyrics. And The Life of Pablo is a fucking classic.

It's phrases like this that make Kanye fans so insufferable. Sure I wouldn't call Kanye's production bland, but what's so magical about it? You couldn't seriously put Yeezus on and apply the phrases you've just used.

Kanye is on the backside of his career. The peak was 2004-2011. Now he’s just so angry all the time. Why do made Kanye? You’re rich, famous, married with a family. Things you desperately wanted 15 years ago. His constant anger is a turnoff.

I genuinely consider him the both the greatest artist of this century and the greatest producer I've ever heard - Yeezus being a big part of both of those. Who would you say has had a greater influence, variety, and consistency in music this century than Kanye?

Industrial hip-hop has been done much better much earlier. Yeezus lacks in sharpness, detail, spontaneity and intensity. How you can say "I can't think of anyone else on earth who's producing anything near this standard" is just beyond me. And how many great songs are on Yeezus anyway? In answer to your question I don't know. It's too bold a statement I'd feel comfortable making.

In answer to your question I don't know. It's too bold a statement I'd feel comfortable making. It's true Kanye worked with a lot of people to create the Yeezus sound but when you realise how he was able to orchestrate and utilise such disparate people as Bon Iver, Rick Rubin, and Arca to find his vision I honestly think it's just inspiring. I wouldn't call it an industrial album either - it takes part of that and adds it to the aesthetic but that's clearly not the main theme, it's more cinematic, mid-tempo, atmospheric, and heavy (in an emotional sense) than that. I'd say it's the negative reversal of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - a blank-space masterpiece of churning snyths, aching vocals and bursts of pure ego that's more about the addictive, lonely side of a God-complex than the grandiose opulence of MBDTF. It sounds like a deep, dark, heavy ego-trip - one that's definitely flawed but still incredibly powerful and unique. To me, it shares VERY little in common with industrial hip-hop such as Death Grips other than some occasional sonic choices - people who are too lazy to critique the album's unique sound just lump it with people like that because they're both abrasive in parts. As for it lacking sharpness, detail, or intensity...I mean, we must be listening to different albums. Blood on the Leaves is as sharp, detailed, and intense a track as I've ever heard. It's just intoxicatingly powerful. containing moments of aggression, humour, and transcendent beauty whilst simultaneously sounding both maximalist and minimalist - that's the Yeezus sound. Okay, I'll give you that that statement was hyperbolic - but album in album out, I genuinely don't think anyone else is on Kanye's level. From The College Dropout through Late Registration/Graduation, the sheer genius of 808s, the perfection of MDBTF/WTT, the ambition of Yeezus and The Life of Pablo and now the Wyoming era, he's just clearly the stand-out artist of the century to me. I respect that if you're not a massive fan you might not agree but honestly I don't see who else can really stand up to his discography at this point. And the great songs on Yeezus: - Black Skinhead - New Slaves - Hold My Liquor (the defining song of the album for me) - Blood on the Leaves - Guilt Trip - Bound 2
