Production sounds great. Shame I can't be hyped because it probably isn't coming out.

First-listen thoughts: This sounds rushed. The production is amazing, but the songs barely reach two minutes half the time and the lyrics are 90% trash. I liked ye, KSG was incredible, this is just a really weird 27 minutes. It's okay to listen to because the production is so cinematic, but it hasn't been organised into good songs. 6/10 at the very most for me. Could go down to a 4 or up to a 7 on future listens. We'll see.

It’s a hollow, wafer thin exploration of faith. Slow Train Coming it isn’t.

From anyone else, this would be a decent 6/10 project of good production and mediocre rapping. From the greatest artist of the 21st century, though, there's no hiding the fact that this is a crushing disappointment. The man who once spent thousands of hours perfecting songs like POWER no longer exists, and that's a great loss to music.

Yeah, it's a fun enough album, but the production is the only reason that it's even worth listening to. Kanye sounds bored all throughout and isn't even capable of making much of a coherent thought, much less any of the greatest and insightful moments of his discography. Makes you wonder how genuine his new-found faith is. If anything, this album is a warning to others to stay away from Christianity, because according to this record it sucks away your musical creativity.

The songs are kinda skimpy and lacking depth despite the subject matter of God, Jesus, etc. I really like Selah, On God, Follow God and Everything We Need. On thing I don’t like and it’s been popping up on his albums and songs over the last 4-5 years is this weird scream/yell/cackle. On this album he does it at the end of “Follow God”. It’s so alarming and a turnoff. He also does this on the song “Yikes” and on Kids See Ghosts with “4th Dimension”.
