That sample sounds like a continuation of that AM sound. In that there's a preference for grooves over traditional rock riffs, perhaps, but it sounds much more lo-fi to me. Those drums at the end sound really upfront and untreated, which I welcome after AM, which was too polished for my liking. I'm excited. And, come on people, fuck the song titles. We have this same argument every time a tracklist for a new Gallagher album is released. They mean nothing. Songs with "good" titles can be shit, and songs with "shit" titles can be great. This has been proved time and again.

Imagine telling your mate you like the new Arctic Monkeys song. They ask which one. You respond with The World's First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip....WTF
Anyway I'm looking forward to hearing some new stuff, it's been too long.

As someone else said it just looks like them trying too hard to be clever and different. And give me Noels brackets, "AKAs...." and exclamation points over that bag of shite any day tbh

This has been proved time and again. That is one problem I have with AM, too polished. RU Mine? and DIWK? sold me a rawer different album, nothing against doing something different musically, but some of the songs ended up sounding more like something Pharrel ou Marron 5 would do, too clean.

It will not take much to be better than AM and that preview seems to indicate it will be but still early days. If there´s anything that will bring back old Alex Turner´s genious, is having had two years in a touring bromance with Miles Kane.

Don't get the criticism of AM at all. I was never the biggest fan of their post-punk debut - the market was saturated to buggery with that kind of music back then so it never really stood out for me, but his perceptive lyrics of 'life in a northern town' were the most authentic out there.
But AM is one of the smoothest sounding albums ever with all band members on top form performance wise, and for all the criticism Alex Turner gets, fucking hell, at least it looks like he's having a good time. His whole rock n roll shtick is an act and that's what frontmen are 90% of the time - just an act. He's playing up to his heroes that's all and it's all just lighthearted. It's refreshing to see in a time when all frontmen of modern indie acts try to portray an image of being brooding and deep, instead just coming off as pathetically self-conscious and pretentious.

I'm pretty much only a fan of their post FWNM. I was 20 when their debut came out and it felt too teenage for my taste at the time. I'm a big fan of AM, not so much of Alex's new "cool" Rock 'n' Roll personality but it's the music that matters and anybody who can write songs like Fireside and I Wanna Be Yours is alright by me.
I'm not a big fan of 80's styles synths but I'll wait to hear the full song before I judge.

Looking forward to this one! The trailer, to me, sounds like a mix between AM & Last shadow puppets last album.

Which is a shame because I wasn't impressed with the LSP album and AM is my least favourite album from them They had posted a picture of the band on facebook and fucking hell they all look so old! I dunno, lots of bad vibes with this release😂

AM has a few filler tracks but the good ones are very good.

But yeah, the recent TLSP album was a disappointment for me because I was expecting it to be almost as good as their debut but I didn't like it as much.

The Radio X 'announcement' was nothing as usual then?
Can we expect to hear something Friday morning when the UK gigs go on sale?

So yeah, hope we get the single this friday There's talk from legitimate sources of no officially promoted single being released before the album. They may surprise us and drop something out of the blue with no promo but, if anything, not as an "official single". Likely that the first we'll hear is the album in its entirety.

Would have been better to put the parentheses around "From the Monster Truck" rather then "You Better Run." Sorry, but 10 years as an Oasis fan will make a person rather sensitive to the usage of brackets in song titles.

Yesterday I bought two standing tickets bought for 10 September at the O2.
I was going to post an old man thing about how much they were but...meh. It was a lot. They'd better be good now.

I got tickets for the same date this morning. 2X seats, £127 all in. Not terrible I thought. Pain in the arse its the o2 but I didn't fancy blowing a fortune doing a weekend in Manchester or Birmingham. I just need new music now.

Bagged two tickets for Birmingham Arena in the pre sale yesterday, block 12 so we'll be nice and close! Should be an awesome night seeing my favourite band. Now lets keep our eyes peeled for a surprise single drop before the album, hopefully we get something!
